**What you will be doing**

Reporting to the Ocean Import Supervisor, the Logistics Coordinator will play a pivotal role in overseeing third-party logistics, leveraging negotiation skills to secure competitive rates with ocean carriers, and ensure seamless tracking of Full Containerloads (FCL) and Less-than Containerload (LCL) shipments. **You will be contributing to that vision by**
- Responsible to ensure the smooth movement of ocean shipments and resolving issues relating to shipments.
- Communicate and coordinate with Sea Freight carriers, co-loaders, truckers, customs brokers, and other external service providers.
- Work closely with the customers to provide shipping and logistic solutions, and proactive response to service issues.
- Manage booking, shipment routings with clients, and their agents.
- Sourcing carrier rates to complete client and agent rate requests and provide quotes in a timely manner.
- Verify documents to ensure full accuracy.
- Processing of E-Manifest documents.
- Trace shipments daily to ensure there are no unforeseen delays.
- Update clients and agents on the status of their shipment.
- Arrange pickup and delivery of shipments with clients (LCL, FCL, and consolidation shipments).
- Arrange for insurance coverage for the cargo.
- Issue invoices accurately and within 48 hours when possible.
- Issue intent to claim when needed.
- Accrue pending charges and approve payables.
- Update costs with agents and carriers.
- Request profit share data.
- Request and follow up on Point of Discharge (POD) and update the system accordingly.
- Finalize files accurately and completely.
- Maintain and update client status report(s).
- After hours and other tasks as required.

**What skills & experience you will bring to us**
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain Management
- 2-5 years of experience within Ocean Imports logistics is preferred
- CITT and/or CIFFA certifications considered strong assets
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Experience managing third-party logistics providers
- Ability to interpret complex instructions
- Customer-focused with excellent communication skills
- Effective multitasking and organizational abilities
- Friendly, helpful attitude with a willingness to support
- Demonstrates honesty, trustworthiness, and respect
- Sound work ethics in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills and financial awareness

**What are some key figures for the role**

- You will receive a permanent full-time contract with a 35-hour work week; position requirements may include additional and/or extended work time as the business requires
