**Director of Retail - Permanent Full Time**

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**
Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Director of Retail is a leadership role responsible for strategically growing and managing the company's retail function. This position involves developing and executing retail strategies that contribute to Manitobah's growth and profitability.

The incumbent will build, lead, and grow a multi-store team (Canada and USA) of talent and be responsible for developing the vision and business strategies vital to achieve sales, operations and organizational goals of customer satisfaction, profitability and productivity in accordance with Manitobah’s Brand philosophy.

**Location**:
Hybrid work model. International travel to USA and Canada is required for marketing and PR events, company meetings, and store build outs - up to 30% of the time.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Lead and inspire their team to prioritize customer service and deliver the Manitobah experience to our consumers.
- Develop and own the retail budget, including store buildouts and grand openings, and forecasting plans that support corporate initiatives, including tracking results while analyzing business performance against marketplace/stores.
- Build action plans to maximize profitability, productivity, and business growth.
- Guide current and new initiatives for Manitobah’s growing retail presence by demonstrating their knowledge of consumer insights, market -place trends and feedback.
- Influence retail operations to achieve sales, service, organization, customer satisfaction, and profitability goals while maintaining safety and operational standards.
- Identify new store locations, both long-term and pop-up leases, and negotiating favorable terms to keep costs in line with the budget.
- Create and execute all store operations plans including staffing, policies, risk management, safety, shrinkage, and sales SOPs.
- Work with marketing and store design resources (internal and external) to create a visually engaging, best-in
- class customer experience.
- Partner with Brand Marketing to execute brand building communications in-store including Social Impact, Indigenous Market, New Product Launches, and Brand Campaigns.
- Support consumer insights efforts through NPS tracking, early release product testing, and gathering staff product feedback.

**Ideal Experience**
**Professional Experience**:

- Proven ability to build inclusive, diverse teams through hiring, professional development, ongoing training, and consistent accountability that will elevate the retail function.
- 6-8 years of progressive retail management experience is required.
- Experience managing multi-million dollar retail budgets.
- Demonstrated store location leadership including market analysis, leasing and negotiations.
- Multi-unit retail operations experience of diverse teams of 50 employees or greater.
- Proven results in bringing a brand to life via in-store communications and visuals.
- Grand Opening, event management and store traffic driving experience.
- Footwear and/or apparel retail experience an asset.

**Educational Position Requirements**:

- Post-secondary education in Business, Management, or Marketing preferred
- A combination of education, training and work experience may be considered.

**Salary**: $90,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
