**MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Purchasing**
- Assist in the development of strategic purchasing programs that consolidate company spending.
- Develop and maintain effective vendor relations to assist in purchasing effectively.
- Run inventory reports, take special order requests and consult with departments, then analyze requests, determine quantities needed for all branches.
- Meet with sales people to determine product needs, pricing, delivery, etc.
- Create RFQ’s as required.
- Purchase the right quality and quantity goods at the right time and price from best source.
- Generate and send purchase orders utilizing ERP software (Sage 300).
- Expedite purchase orders with vendors.
- Monitor price increases and advise as necessary.
- Resolve receiving and supplier invoice discrepancies.
- Review supplier shipping errors and determine appropriate action.
- Assist Accounting with any quantity or pricing discrepancies between packing slips and purchase orders as needed.
- Process returns to vendors as needed.
- Generate analytical inventory reports as needed.
- Assist in cross border freight and customs brokerage issues as they happen.
- Monitor ship dates, track outstanding orders for shipping issues, resolve problems and disputes that arise.
- Determine best carrier for goods purchased and arrange shipping.
- Assist in creating procedure and process in inventory control and manufacturing.

**Logistics & Transportation**
- Assist VP in Negotiating preferential rates and authorize contracts, and direct procurement related to transportation operational needs for all incoming and outgoing shipments
- Work with international carriers and freight forwarders to streamline the flow of goods across international borders and through customs
- Address activities in customer service, warehousing, inventory, transportation, materials handling, and strategic planning
- Develop the internal logistics strategy for the organization
- Develop and communicate transportation policies and procedures
- Direct and manage corporate governance and regulatory compliance - CBSA Canadian Border Services Agency
- Monitor operations to ensure that staff comply with administrative policies and procedures, and government regulations
- Manage, and resolve all issues that arise with CBSA - Canada customs for importing and exporting of goods.
- Identify and manage risk within the logistics activities
- Establish key performance indicators, monitor ongoing performance, and improve performance against set goals
- Develop and implement profit improvement plans and change management plans
- Resolve work-related problems and prepare and submit progress and other reports
- File, monitor and resolve freight claims as required

**DAILY**:

- Monitor stock levels
- Create purchase orders from special order forms and inventory reports as needed.
- Purchase for projects as required
- Sort, organize and maintain special order forms as they arrive.
- Review item analysis reports; determine the proper quantities and items to purchase for all branches
- Receive and submit for data entry pricing and ETA’s from purchase orders submitted.
- Take and process orders submitted by Ticketing System from branches to order in product.
- Research and correct pricing issues
- Assist with any branch concerns or issues that arise, ordering parts, freight concerns.

**ONGOING**:

- Review open purchase orders
- Research and correct negative inventory
- Maintain Pricelists after Vendor price increases
- Maintain and file purchase orders as needed.
- Assist with cycle counts and stock rotation as needed.
- Create and monitor Min / Max for inventory.

**WORK EXPERIENCE**:

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in Purchasing & logistics or other related fields preferred.
- Strong computer skills including Excel, Outlook.
- Experience in data entry
- Excellent keyboarding skills is a must
- Sage 300 (Accpac) or equivalent experience, but not necessary
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving and related Canada, US International customs procedures.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in warehouse/delivery/
- /Excel software programs required (and must be able to learn new software quickly).

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $19.00-$21.00 per hour

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
