**What do you offer?**
The Housing Support Clerk will work as part of the Housing Services Team that provides programs and services for individuals with affordable/social housing needs including supportive housing, emergency shelter, youth transitional housing, counselling, and referral. The Housing Support Clerk will be responsible for providing desk clerk services to guests, residents, staff, members, and the general public.
**Some of the tasks of this position include**:
- Providing general information to individuals and agencies regarding eligibility for housing.
- Entering service information into the database.
- Answering main switchboard and redirect calls if needed.
- Trouble shooting automated parking complaints.
- Monitoring radio systems.
- Maintaining and updating the association work order system.
- Assisting with Association philanthropy initiatives.
- Maintaining and updating the evacuation list.
- Accurately documenting events/incidents and records in folios, logs, or on appropriate forms and communicating information to team members and supervisor as required.
- Attending staff meetings and participating as a member of the broader Y (committees, activities, events) as required.
- Maintaining client confidentiality and ensure that all files and records are secure.

**Education**
- High School Diploma or equivalent
**Language**
- Fluent in English, oral and written
- Bilingualism an asset
**Experience, Skills and Abilities**
- Previous experience in the front office, customer service, or cash management
- Knowledge and sensitivity in dealing with individuals with homelessness, addictions, and mental health issues
- Excellent knowledge of community resources
- High degree of initiative and adaptability
- Sensitivity in providing services to a vulnerable population
- Ability to work with clients with diverse backgrounds and needs
- Standard First Aid and CPR certification
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, with a reasonable level of computer skills
**Additional Requirements**:
- Applicants must already have a valid permit to work in Canada.
- Semi-annually, staff must complete the mandatory training for the protection of Children & Youth and submit the certificate of completion.
