At Cruise Connections, we believe in perfectly planned and curated detailed events.
We’re searching for a professional and experienced event planner to manage production from concept through completion, helping maintain our reputation for extraordinary events.

You are passionate, creative, detail-oriented, and dedicated to providing excellent client service at every turn. You are an expert in all aspects of event, meeting, and conference planning, including cost containment, venue scouting, equipment logistics, room setup, and best practices.

You have excellent leadership skills and an ability to delegate responsibilities to meet expectations for quality. You can manage the daily details while having big
- picture thinking to ensure truly unique experiences.

You are responsible for all aspects of facility operations including booking, contract negotiation and preparation, collecting payments and permits, pre-and post-event

inspections, inventory control, final billing, financial reporting, and the use of technology.

**Responsibilities Include**:

- Event planning, design and production within specified timeline
- Coordinate with internal staff, clients, and vendors to establish the requirements for an event, and serve as liaison to senior executives, government officials, and industry leaders throughout the planning process
- Locate resources, visit sites, and lead pre-event meetings to help staff make decisions about event design
- Oversee client experiences from conception through post-event review; manage on-site preparations, production, and event breakdown; and ensure consistent, high-level service throughout all phases
- Plan and facilitate logistics for all events, including contract negotiations, guest lists, venue preparation, presentation materials, security, catering, entertainment, transportation, equipment, decor, and promotional materials
- Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health and safety obligations
- Build and maintain a comprehensive database of industry contacts, vendors, and venues
- Research market, identify event opportunities and generate interest

**Required Skills and Qualifications Include**:

- Minimum of 3 years proven success as an Event Planner/Conference Manager
- Impressive portfolio of previously managed events (i.e. corporate events, meetings, parties, weddings etc.)
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)

- Sales skill an asset and ability to build productive business relationships
- Excellent organizational skills, including multi-tasking, time management and attention to detail
- Ability to negotiate with vendors
- Ability to manage budgets
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently
- Ability to handle pressure
- Superior strategic, analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- MS Office proficiency - Including Word, Excel and Powerpoint
- Proficient with event management software and ability to create reports that guide future event planning
- Flexibility for domestic or international travel, as needed
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in event management or related discipline an asset
- Project Management Certification an asset
- Travel experience an asset

**Salary and Benefits**:
