Job Title: Mechanical Technologist

Location: onsite, Coquitlam, BC

What we’re looking for:
Key Responsibilities:

- Support the design, implementation, and optimization of pilot testing processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Conduct testing on piloted products to determine whether they meet specifications.
- Monitor and manage testing and piloting schedules to ensure products are delivered on time.
- Implement and oversee automation solutions to enhance data collection processes.
- Design and develop new products and processes, utilizing advanced tools and techniques.
- Design and develop tools required for piloting and process improvements.
- Lead and manage technological changes within the piloting facility, ensuring seamless integration and mínimal disruption.
- Identify and resolve technical issues, making informed decisions to enhance production and product quality.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment.
- Utilize 3D printing technology for prototyping and manufacturing components.
- Creativity in materials manipulation and apparatus design. Ability to be inventive in absence of a defined process
- Execute sanitation and cleaning of process equipment and general cleaning of work areas to contribute to a safe working environment
- Use of dry and wet chemicals
- Perform maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities as required
- Perform any other duties as required

Qualifications:

- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering Design. Will consider applicants with relevant trades training and experience.
- Experience in a piloting or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and quality assurance.
- Proficiency in automation technologies and 3D printing.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication (oral and written) and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with CAD software and other engineering tools is an asset.
- Experience with 3D modelling (e.g. Fusion) and 3D printing tools
- Ability to operate machinery, if required (training will be provided).

Pay: $50,000.00-$57,500.00 per year
