Reefer Technician

We are looking for an experienced and capable Reefer Technician to join our dedicated team in the fleet and maintenance shop and take accountability for all aspects of the fleet including, inspection, service and repair of dry freight and refrigerated trailers. The schedule is from Monday to Friday, with variable day shifts.

What You’ll Do:

- Take responsibility for the inspection, diagnostics and repair of all electrical, heating and refrigeration systems, including Trailcon and MP servicing of all units and maintenance of mobile service units.
- Perform inventory control and management, ensuring and anticipating appropriate stock levels. Provide customer service and including diagnosis of technical problems and providing recommendations on repair solutions.
- Operate mobile service truck and complete repairs a safe manner and incompliance with Clark Freightways safety and best practice standards.

What You’ll Need:

- Journeyman certification in Alberta or Red Seal Transport Refrigeration Technician related to transport refrigeration units OR 3 years experience in any of the following: mechanical trades
- commercial refrigeration/automotive technician/truck and a transport technician/heavy duty equipment mechanic.
- Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, HVAC components, electrical circuits and control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, training documents and complete repairs in accordance with Ministry of Transportation requirements.
- Clean drivers abstract.
- Ability to perform occasional lifting to a maximum of 50 pounds.
- Carrier or Thermo King factory training an asset.
