**Job Description**:
**About the role**

We are seeking for our Toronto office a Manager, Corporate Actuarial to join our North America Life Valuation team in a senior role to manage the implementation and ongoing process for Solvency II reporting.

Your responsibilities will include oversight and completion of the following:

- In coordination with the Chief Actuary, VP North American Valuation, and Head of Global Corporate Actuarial, design and implement the Solvency II reporting process for all North America Life & Health business to be effective in 2023:

- Design and implement functionality in support of Solvency II requirements to existing AXIS valuation models for assumed reinsurance treaties across multiple legal entities and external and affiliated party retrocession treaties
- Working in collaboration with a global, multi-disciplinary project team ensure deliverables and timelines are met for consolidated Solvency II reporting requirements
- Design and implement appropriate control framework to ensure governance and risk requirements are met
- Coordinate and liaise with finance and risk teams, and internal and external auditors related to the Solvency II implementation
- Lead the ongoing quarterly reporting for Solvency II for the North America Life business unit, including analysis of change, data and model validations, and verification of required controls.
- Manage a small team of actuarial staff including mentorship and professional development.

**About you**:

- Demonstrated ability to lead the implementation of a new reporting framework leveraging off existing models and processes.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a global and multi-disciplinary team including communication to senior management, peers and staff
- Demonstrated strong work ethic, organizational skills, team work and accountability
- Highest degree of professional ethics
- Strong interpersonal skills & effective communicator (written and oral)
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-identification and resolution skills with attention to detail
- High degree of personal competence (self-awareness, self-management)
- High degree of social competence (social awareness, relationship management)

**Your qualifications**
- Approx. 10 years of experience within insurance/reinsurance industry with exposure to financial reporting and analysis, preferably with Solvency II and other reporting bases in North America.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- FSA or similar international actuarial designation
- Experience modeling in AXIS
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and Excel
- Experience in SQL or similar database management tool an asset
- Experience in R and statistical modeling skills an asset
- Experience working in a global organization an asset
