**TALENT COORDINATOR (GROUP BENEFITS AND PAY ADMINISTRATION)**

**PEOPLE SERVICES**

As a Talent Coordinator, you are responsible for Human Resource Information System (HRIS) updates, developing and running ad hoc queries, testing new functionality, running reports, and making recommendations to improve systems so a keen eye for detail and a sense of curiosity will help you be effective. You’ll also be given the opportunity to participate on projects and work independently to support the college’s strategic plan and really make a difference at the college.

Communication and customer service are key components of this position, and we’re looking for someone who can bring these attributes into the forefront of their workday every day.

**HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE**
- Administer the college benefit plans including communicate, enroll, terminate, and make changes to employee benefit plans, liaising with benefit providers.
- Manage both insured and negotiated benefits as outlined in the collective agreements and terms and conditions of employment.
- Interpret and administer diverse and complex policies and procedures, collective agreements, and term and conditions of employment.
- Facilitate employee orientation sessions, and advise employees of benefits available through NorQuest College to help them make informed decisions.
- Notify key internal stakeholders and work with other departments to facilitate a welcoming and engaging onboarding process.
- Create, sign, and issue letters relating to new hires, transfers, and promotions in a timely manner ensuring accuracy.
- Collect and collate all new hire information and confirm that it is accurate and complete.
- File all relevant documentation and create or update the employee file.
- Assist employees with all other inquiries including pension and reciprocal agreement transfers, life event changes, and death claims. Complete necessary documents for submission to appropriate benefit providers.
- Administer benefit plan Choice Point changes including the coordination of re-enrollment of benefits.
- Participate in portfolio meetings with HR Business Partners to address NorQuest policies, procedures, benefits, and employment perks.
- Participate in various department projects which could include service enhancement or system efficiencies.
- Remain current on all ongoing changes to pay and benefits administration by reviewing updates to policies, procedures, practices, notices, and legislation. This would include collective agreements, terms & conditions of employment, Employment Standards, Alberta Pensions Services, and Canada Revenue Agency.

**WHAT YOU BRING**
- Two year post-secondary diploma in a related discipline.
- 5 years relevant work experience with previous benefit, human resources, or payroll experience.
- Proficient working knowledge of benefits regulations, legislation and collective agreements.
- CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist) designation or PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) Certification is an asset.

**SALARY**: $51,417 - $66,802 depending on what you bring AKA your experiences and education. This is a full-time permanent position with immediate access to our great benefits and pension programs
