Catholic Social Services is currently recruiting for a full time, contract, 40 hours per week, Learning Strategist to join our head office in Edmonton, AB.
This position is a one-year contract.

**Job Summary**:
The Learning Strategist works collaboratively with the Change Management Lead, the Digital Transformation team, the Success Strategists, Training Assistant and service areas to support the delivery of training for Agency employees for the roll-out of the Client Case Management (CCM) system and other functionality in technology systems as required. The primary role of the Learning Strategist is to support the planning of training, develop content, and support in-person and virtual training with a Train the Trainer approach.

Job Duties

**Primary job duties may include but are not limited to**:
**Training Strategy and Planning**:

- Building upon the Organizational Change Management Strategy and Training Strategy, develop training plans that meet the needs of the service areas by liaising with Success Strategists, other key contacts in the Services, and the Digital Transformation team.
- Ensure that training plans meet the needs of different Service Groupings, roles, and functions.
- Work with the service areas (Success Strategists) to determine the training plan for the implementation of the CRM within Services.
- Work with the service areas (Success Strategists) to determine the best trainers for their areas and help get them set up for success including teaching them training techniques, tools, approaches.

**Training Development**:

- Attend workshops and project meetings in order to understand how the processes and system work in order to develop relevant training materials and plans.
- Prepare training materials such as presentations, handouts, activity instructions bringing knowledge of industry standard tools for consideration.
- Work with and guide the Training Assistant who will support content creation.
- Support Trainers in facilitation with the right tools and information.
- Actively support the facilitation of in-person and virtual classes.
- Communicate with course participants as required pre and post session as required.
- Monitor participant engagement, learning progress, and group dynamics during course delivery and adjust the training approach as required.
- Support the creation of a positive and engaging learning environment.

Training Coordination
- Manage training logistics to ensure training is a success while working with the service areas to execute.
- Manage attendance and other records as required.

**Process Improvement**:

- Create course evaluation metrics with Trainers.
- Review course evaluation results and make modifications to timing, style, and other aspects of course delivery as needed working with Trainers.
- Monitor course feedback and identify patterns and opportunities for improvement to course content and learning activities.
- Contribute to the design and development of new or revised course materials.

**General**:

- Identify and advocate for opportunities for improvement, innovation and continuous learning
- Perform other duties as required to support the overall functioning of the Digital Transformation team

**Requirements**:
**Formal Education & Experience**:

- Degree or diploma in a related discipline (e.g. Education, Human Services).
- Certification in Adult Learning content development.
- Certification in Adult Learning, Group Facilitation.
- Ability to support the training of trainers in a train the trainer model.
- An equivalent combination or education and experience may be considered.
- 3-5 years experience in developing IT system training content for adults.
- 3-5 years experience teaching in-person and/or virtual courses and workshop.
- A clear Criminal Record Check current within six (6) months.

**Skills and Abilities**:

- Knowledge of adult learning principles and effective teaching methodologies and tools.
- Demonstrated teaching and group facilitation skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation and public speaking skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire learners.
- Ability to adjust teaching methods/approach as needed.
- Ability to effectively use MS Teams or similar software to deliver effective virtual training.
- Effective relationship building skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking and skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Strong collaborator with the ability to work independently in a team environment.
- High level of professionalism, confidentiality and diplomacy.
- Capacity to work with members of many different faiths and cultural backgrounds.
