Possibility Space is seeking a Mid-to-Senior Animator to help bring our fantastical original IP to life. Are you passionate about storytelling? Do you love creating charming moments in games that can delight and surprise players? Do you enjoy animating a diverse range of stylized humanoid and creature characters?

The Animator will work closely with the Animation Director to define the animation tone and style for a new IP title. They will create appealing animations for our new IP while thoughtfully collaborating with teammates across multiple disciplines.

The Animator will work closely with design and creative teammates to make bright animations for our unique gameplay. They will work with an intentionally cross-disciplinary mindset to bridge design, story, art, and tech-art in their animation craft and workflow, as well as collaborate creatively with audio and vfx disciplines for a holistic game presentation approach.

**Core Responsibilities** & Objectives**:

- Deliver appealing animations that uphold our project's animation style and quality bar, using a combination of keyframe-only and motion-capture-supported animation workflows
- Support early gameplay prototyping by generating and implementing placeholder animations
- Implement, update, and regularly play-test your work in-game throughout production
- Collaborate and iterate on in-progress work throughout production with teammates across different disciplines, especially Design, Gameplay Programming, and Tech Art
- Proactively problem-solve or raise animation-related workflow or content issues
- Own higher-level portions of animation work beyond individual animations (example: animation point of contact for a character, as opposed to an individual contributor making a prescribed list of animations)
- Team up with the Animation Director to establish efficient animation procedures and workflows

**Core Traits (Skills, Knowledge, Experience)**:

- Experience in the process of game development
- Experience creating animation sets for gameplay contexts, or an equivalent interactive context
- Ability to efficiently block out animations for prototyping
- Ability to polish animations within a defined animation style
- Ability to navigate animation work and decision-making with a cross-disciplinary mindset

**Bonus Traits**:

- Experience implementing animation content and/or animation systems in a game engine
- Experience designing efficient animation systems in a game engine
- Experience developing with Unity
- Experience animating with Blender
- Experience shipping with stylized art and animation visual direction
- Experience with user generated content

**Physical Requirements**:

- Close vision to monitors and screens, consistently working on computer equipment such as keyboards and monitors, long periods of sitting.
