Using your experience, skills and talent, you will play a lead role in managing strategic priority projects, coordinating complex time-limited initiatives, and guiding the development of public reporting materials including the Annual Report and Supplement to the Expenditure of Estimates.

As a member of a highly collaborative and innovative project management branch, you will have responsibility for leading your own team of project managers that will coordinate and manage various priority projects, including identifying and critically evaluating issues and options as well as recommending the most appropriate course of action. About us: As part of a shared service model the Strategic and Corporate Services Branch is responsible for leading, coordinating and providing project management of centrally directed government priorities as well as cross-cutting initiatives for two departments: Economic Development, Investment and Trade and Advanced Education, Skills and Immigration. This includes leading high-level, time-limited priority projects identified by the Deputy Minister and Executive Management, strategic internal planning coordination of central priorities, such as Balanced Scorecards, FIPPA, French Language Services and guiding the development of strategic reporting and planning materials including the Annual Report and Supplement to the Estimates of Expenditure.

Qualifications:
Essential:

- Post-secondary education, in a social science-related field (e.g. Public Administration, Economics, Sociology). Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated experience in complex project management.
- Strong political acumen for navigating sensitive and confidential issues.
- Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution and teamwork skills to maintain constructive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
- Excellent organizational skills for setting priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Excellent verbal communication skills for the purpose of presenting complex and sophisticated information to a variety of stakeholders
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Experience analyzing, interpreting and critically assessing information, including legislation, policies, provincial/federal/relevant and departmental initiatives, Cabinet, Treasury Board direction, financial data, legislative proposals and strategic plans.
- Experience leveraging opportunities for innovation, finding creative solutions to issues, and successfully manage change.
- Experience supervising, mentoring, and/or training staff.

**Duties**:
Reporting to the Director, the Manager plays a key role in the branch with responsibility for project management of high-level, time-limited priority projects, as well as providing strategic options, comprehensive policy advice and recommendations using internal and external expertise. The Manager provides management and leadership to a team of project management consultants. The responsibilities include mentoring and coaching staff and working across divisions and departments to deliver on strategic priority initiatives.
