Quality Assurance Coordinator - Live in Treatment, Intensive Programs and Services

**_ 1 Year Contract, Full Time Position_**

York Hills is a children’s mental health agency that offers a wide range of mental health services, supports and partnerships providing meaningful and evidence informed/based treatment to children, youth aged 0 - 18 and their families.

Under the direction of the Director of Quality Improvement and working closely with the Manager of Live in Treatment programs, the role of the Quality Assurance Coordinator, Live In Treatment, Intensive Programs and Services is to oversee, coordinate key processes and quality initiatives related to quality assurance practices within the Live in Treatment, Intensive programs and Services at York Hills. The goal is to enable strong process, practice and outcomes for children, youth and families.

The Coordinator is responsible for monitoring key pieces of information related to licensing, accreditation and best practices within the agency, with a focus on Live in Treatment programs. They will ensure that all aspects of this are are planned and executed effectively. They are strength-based and solution focused in their approach, working within a quality improvement framework.

They are responsible for knowing and following the Organization’s Mission, Vision and Values statements as well as all other organizational and service policies and procedures. The Coordinator understands and demonstrates ethical behavior and business practices, and ensures that their own behavior and the behavior of others is consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of the Organization.

Primary location: This is a hybrid position, with work expectations being divided between remote and on location as required. In person would be primarily at our Aurora location.

**Here’s what you’ll get to do**:

- Maintains a system of documentation and reporting that is consistent with the standards and procedures, legislation and practices of York Hills (i.e. Emhware).
- Organize and maintain a system that will support the best practices and key expectations within the designated programs.
- Facilitates regular auditing as scheduled and compiles reports accordingly.
- Maintains evidence of York Hills programs supporting the Quality Standards Framework for Live in Treatment.
- Maintains evidence of York Hills programs supporting the Child, Youth and Family Services Act, 2017 (CYFSA).
- Maintains evidence of York Hills programs supporting Accreditation standards as outlined through the Canadian Centre for Accreditation.
- Together with the Manager of Live in Treatment programs monitor training requirements for staff and implement trainings, as required.
- Track fidelity within the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention framework.
- Support evaluation and research activities as required.
- Ensure that client records are accurate on EMHware and maintained accordingly.
- Develop, as necessary procedures and processes that are effective, efficient and will support program functioning.
- Monitor agency Serious Occurrence’s including monthly reporting and monitoring activities.
- Monitor agency complaints, including monthly reports and monitoring activities.
- Formulate and manage quality improvement plans, as required.

**ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES**

- Knowledge of the Quality Standards Framework
- Knowledge of the Child, Youth and Family Services Act, 2017 (CYFSA)
- Knowledge of the Plan, do, Study Act quality improvement framework
- Ability to read standards and translate these into practice
- Knowledge and understanding of key areas related to confidentiality for clients, ie. Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA)
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills and solution focused approach.
- Able to maintain confidentiality at all times, related to both staff and clients of York Hills.
- Ability to foster a safe, non-judgmental approach to their work.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as observation and assessment skills.
- Able to problem solve.
- Ability to use a variety of computer software to generate and exchange information.
