**The Opportunity**
We are currently seeking Benefits Analyst to fulfill a 12-month temporary contract. This individual will be responsible for providing support in the management and implementation of Vale's benefits programs. This individual will assist the Manager with the benefit plan contracts and processes The Benefits Analyst will be required to create, implement and train all team members in which they provide document control functions for.
**Responsibilities**
The Benefits Analyst will be responsible for:
- Assists with the administration of our employee benefit programs across all Base Metals locations
- Ensures compliance with benefit plans, policies and processes.
- Completing benefit surveys to better understand market trends.
- Assists in updating policies related to employee benefits/programs, ensuring they are consistent with our organizations goals and values.
- Assists in answering and resolving inquiries/issues from employees/retirees related to their benefits by interpreting benefit plan contracts and procedures.
- Assisting in coordinating our annual flex benefit re-enrollment cycle with vendors and employees.
- Working with Sr. Benefit Specialist and vendors to make any amendments to plan design or contract changes/updates.
- Validating and processing invoices, billings/funding requests for all Base Metals entities
- Works with finance on reconciliations of all premiums paid
- Assist in the preparation of g regulatory filings
- Acting as a resource for local areas to develop a high level of customer service and a support model for employees and retirees.
- Administering and coordinating benefit plan enrollment for all expats with our global expat provider.
- Updating monthly KPIs and performance metrics from our vendors and other ad hoc requests
- Tracking employees on leave and providing vendors with required benefit premium payments.
**About You**
Education**:
- Undergraduate Degree
- CHRP Certification (preferred)
**Experience**:
- 0-2 years of benefits administration experience OR 2-4 years of professional experience in other HR areas
**Skills**:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with at least intermediate proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP and pivot tables), PowerPoint and Word
- Strong Organizational Skills and Attention to detail
- Strong analytical skills/problem solving skills.
- Solid Communication Skills
- Highest standard of Ethics and Integrity when managing employee benefit programs and handling sensitive employee data
