**Position Overview**

Reporting to the Associate Director of the Capacity Development Platform, Alberta SPOR SUPPORT Unit (AbSPORU), the Education Coordinator plays a crucial role in coordinating projects and initiatives that support the educational development goals of the Platform, including assisting in policy implementation, stakeholder engagement, and project management, as well as supporting other initiatives of AbSPORU as needed.

**Position Description**

**Summary of Key Responsibilities** (job functions include but are not limited to):

- Assisting in identifying learning needs, setting program objectives, ensuring accessibility and impact of programs, and managing project timelines and budgets
- Organizing and facilitating training sessions, workshops, and seminars aimed at diverse stakeholders
- Assessing the effectiveness of educational programs through feedback surveys, assessments, and other evaluation methods, and providing this data to refine and improve future initiatives
- Actively engaging with a variety of stakeholders to incorporate their perspectives and needs into educational programs
- Fostering networking opportunities, facilitating partnerships, promoting a collaborative environment that encourages the sharing of knowledge and resources
- Assisting in promoting the capacity development of patient-oriented research through advocacy, policy recommendations, and dissemination of success stories through various channels
- Participating in research projects to gather and analyze data on educational practices, outcomes, and the effectiveness of program materials
- Implementing and evaluating tools that enhance learning experiences, facilitate remote collaboration, and support the effective dissemination of educational content

**Qualifications / Requirements**:

- Master's degree preferred in Education, Health Sciences, Public Health, Educational Technology, or a related field. Bachelor's degree required with consideration for equivalent education and/or significant experience in educational program development or health education and research
- Minimum three years of progressive experience in coordinating and managing educational programs, preferably within a healthcare, research, or university setting
- Experience in a multidisciplinary and diverse environment highly desired
- Demonstrable experience in coordinating educational initiatives targeted at health researchers, healthcare professionals, or patient advocacy groups. Familiarity with patient-oriented research methodologies and collaborative healthcare models is a significant asset
- Understanding of the educational policy landscape at local, provincial/state, and national levels, especially as it pertains to health education and research
- Knowledge of accreditation standards and compliance requirements for educational programs in health education and research an advantage
- Demonstrated capability to efficiently plan, manage, and execute multiple complex projects simultaneously with meticulous attention to detail. Proven track record of meeting project deadlines and objectives
