**FULL TIME - 12 month contract**

**START DATE: January 2023**

**This posting will remain up and active until filled**

Are you an experienced leader in the field of Early Childhood Education? Do you have a passion for cultivating authentic relationships and connections with families, children and educators to create an environment for optimal learning, health and well-being?

**If this is you, join our team and make a difference in the life of a child.**

The YMCA of Three Rivers is committed to better serving our communities, where and how they need us most. For over 150 years, the YMCA has supported the needs of our communities in Guelph and Wellington Counties, Stratford-Perth, and Waterloo Region. Collectively we have provided accessible, inclusive, and proactive opportunities for personal growth and involvement helping to build a stronger, healthier and more vibrant community. Our Regional YMCA helps 1 in 8 people each year find hope and health through a wide range of programs and services delivered at over 150 sites.

As Canada's largest not-for-profit child care provider, the YMCA plays a leading role in research-based program development and community engagement. Quality care and education of all young children has a lasting impact on their ability to become healthy contributing members of our community. This is where you come in.

**What you will do**

You will support the supervisor in leading a team to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment where children and families have access to high quality licensed child care that influences positive child and family outcomes. You will build knowledge, skills and confidence in your team through effective supervision, on the ground support, and coaching opportunities. Making meaningful connections and using effective communication you will develop strong relationships with children, families, educators, volunteers, and community partners. You will foster a positive team environment by building morale and creating a safe trusted team atmosphere where reflection and goal setting are valued and supported. You will support all ages and stages of development by ensuring the delivery of high quality licensed child care experiences that encourage children’s exploration, play and inquiry, supported by Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years, How Does learning Happen? and YMCA Curriculum. As a support to the supervisor you multitask to complete administrative responsibilities and adapt well to the changing needs of the centre.

**What you will bring**

Ideally, you are a Registered Early Childhood Educator with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a licensed child care setting working with children 0-5 years and 6-12 years of age. You have strong knowledge and demonstrated expertise in the _Child Care and Early Years Act_ (2014), the _Early Learning for Every Child Today_ document, _How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years_ and _The Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. You have experience leading diverse teams in creating environments that nurture positive, responsive relationships with children, parents/caregivers and community partners. Relationship building, communication, coaching and mentoring, problem solving and critical reflection are key competencies you rely on in your day to day work._

**What you will gain**

You will be an integral part of the Child Care team and an organization that has massive impact across our community. You will be joining a local organization but you’ll also be part of a global movement. The YMCA has an excellent pension plan available to all employees and a comprehensive benefit plan for full time employees. You will have access to several continuous professional learning opportunities at no cost and opportunities for growth within the Association. The YMCA offers a competitive wage plus government wage enhancement where eligible.
