Within Cancer Care Alberta (CCA), Supportive Care: Rehabilitation Oncology services are provided by a team of health care professionals dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of those affected by cancer by providing support and expert care from the time of diagnosis through treatment and beyond. The team of healthcare professionals working within Cancer Care are leaders in cancer diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and palliative care. We are looking for a team-oriented, highly organized, experienced Administrative Assistant to join our team in a full-time, temporary position. The ideal administrative assistant needs to be knowledgeable about Allied Health disciplines and services, along with CCA’s teams and programs. Responsibilities include support Manager, and clinical teams. Working under mínimal guidance and direction, the Admin Support demonstrates consistent initiative and utilizes enhanced skills to perform varied reception, and clerical duties. Maintain calm, supportive, and respectful communication when interacting with distressed patients, support persons and staff with multiple demands. Patient-facing activities include first point of contact for patients/families coming in for care, responding to incoming phone calls, screening patients' presenting concerns and receiving provider questions about services, relaying messages, and scheduling appointments (in-person and virtual). Waitlist management in Connect Care and triaging as per established criteria. Regular communication with patients, members of the multidisciplinary team, physicians, other healthcare providers and other departments for appointments, scheduling, or follow-up. Non-patient facing duties include ordering supplies/education resources, determining priorities; directing concerns to Manager; supporting staff with IT issues.
