**Job Summary**

The role of Manager Solution Architecture is to oversee and track the progress and quality of deliverables in delivering solutions that are business critical and secure as well as communicating the status and issues to the leadership team. The role is responsible for leading technological roadmap discussions and steering the organization towards an evolution of the solution to meet business requirements

**Main Responsibilities**

**Leading Others**
- Partner with HR to bring new talent to the organization by determining which skills and roles will be required in the future and by making thoughtful hiring decisions
- Provide a positive and welcoming onboarding experience to all new employees by ensuring they have access to the tools and resources needed to fulfill the requirements of their job
- Recognize employee milestones (service awards, retirements, etc.) as well as significant contributions and enhanced responsibilities
- Focus on communications and foster collaboration by regularly providing updates to teams about ongoing initiatives and encouraging teams to work together to accomplish common goals and learning
- Manage employee performance by ensuring employees who are not meeting expectations are identified and supported through the performance improvement process
- Create and enable a positive and engaging work environment by ensuring individual strengths are uncovered and leveraged through frequent and focused conversations - collaborate, coach and build connections with employees
- Participate in succession planning by contributing to the yearly talent review cycle and identifying employees with the potential to move up the management and expertise paths
- Support employee development by having regular career conversations with all employees (documented and tracked) and supporting them in reaching their career goals
- Ensure knowledge is preserved through cross-training for key skill sets in the team (knowledge transfer)

**Architecture Management (Content)**
- ** **Oversee the delivery of complex & safety critical solution architectures: Ensure processes and governance are understood and followed, works with other teams to facilitate collaboration, ensures involvement of the right architects, right SMEs and key stakeholders during the processes. Ensures that deliverables are meeting quality standards and delivered on time
- Work with the systems integration team, the quality team and the delivery team to make sure systems are developed as per architecture solutions and that architects are fully integrated within the end-to-end delivery cycle
- Ensure key architecture decisions made during projects aimed to maximizes the value and manage the risk of CN investment

Ensures that solutions are in line with enterprise and domain architecture content to support short and long-term business objectives
- Ensure architecture solutions from the team are aligned with the requirements from the Reliability team and the Safety team
- Drive change to enable enterprise and domain architecture strategies and positions
- Give overall direction and guidance for putting in place best-in-class architecture processes for designing large and complex IoT systems
- Secure 6-18 month solution evolution

**Service Management (Practice)**
- Assign and coordinate extensive workload based on project criticality and architecture complexity.
- Provide visibility on the architecture service through proper reporting and KPI communication.
- Work with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with architecture activities, project plans (deadlines), expectations, exceptions, escalations, etc.
- Represent Architecture in project management process improvement initiatives
- Identify, promote and lead process improvements

**Requirement**

**Education/Certification/Designation**
- Bachelor's degree in Computer science, Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent degree o work experience
- Master degree in the technology field an asset

**Skills/Knowledge**
- Strong technical background in various domains and technologies
- Proven ability to organize team and workload in order to achieve objectives and targets
- Strong organizational skills - tactful, resolute and committed in providing excellent customer service
- Very good experience in the identification, assessment and management of solution
