**Job Description**:
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Risk Prevention, the Claims Manager’s underlying responsibility will be to ensure the daily functioning of Claims & Risk prevention department and compliance of cargo and non-cargo claims handling procedures. Manage Cargo and Non-Cargo Claims and customer service activities to optimize profitability and customer satisfaction.

Key Accountabilities
- Leading and managing a team of Claims Specialists and Representatives through tasks delegation according to the department’s needs and roles
- Provide continuous training, coaching, mentoring and assist with weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting on Team’s KPI, P&L, overseeing daily HR issues including performance management, conducting one-on-one sessions and setting up short and long-terms Team’s goals and targets
- Analyze and interpretate reports, department stats for claims payments and come up with the necessary suggestions for process improvement, contributing for the development of claims management policies, procedures, and practices
- Follow up with third party liabilities and recoveries such as Terminals, CN Rail, Trucking companies, Canadian Authorities, appointed Lawyers and marine surveyors, etc.
- Coordinate with Head office MSC Geneva on process and expectations alignments and collaborate with cross-functional departments to deliver elevated customer service experience, manage risk, and drive revenue goals
- Ensure continuous improvements and achievements through execution of strategic initiatives for process development, reducing process inefficiencies and inconsistencies by aligning team roles, capacity and efficiency to comply with day-to-day tasks
- Ensure compliant claims handling, accurate liability decisions, appropriate settlement, adherence to key performance metrics and management of litigation

**Qualifications**:
This position requires a strategic, and analytical mindset who can demonstrate the following characteristics:

- 7 + years of similar or relevant work experience
- Excellent ability to analyze and problem solve using creative out-of-the-box thinking
- Solid understanding of the entire logistics and supply chain lifecycle to identify risk areas and inefficiencies and provide recommendations for improvements
- Able to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Ability to identify control and process weaknesses and propose viable solutions
- Able to manage the workload, to prioritize, and to manage their time effectively, ensuring a seamless and frictionless process, approaching problems logically and with professional judgment
- Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency and promptness as well as consistency in following up unresolved issues
- Attention to detail with excellent time management skills, particularly under pressure
- Experience in shipping, transportation and/or logistics industry (an asset)
- Proficient with MS Office Suite, specifically with Excel, Power Point and PowerBI
