The Department of Housing, Addictions and Homelessness is looking to fill the position of Tenant Activity Worker. Manitoba Housing is responsible for the development and management of housing policies and programs. The division supports the development of safe and affordable housing, particularly for those of low and moderate income or those with specialized needs. Programs are delivered directly or in partnership with private, non-profit, and cooperative organizations and community-based service providers.

Qualifications:
**Essential**:

- Post-secondary Degree/Diploma or certificate in the field of Therapeutic Recreation or Leisure Services such as Bachelor of Social Work, Psychology, Sociology. An equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered.
- Experience related to recreational activities such as but not limited to program development, planning, implementation and evaluation of activities for seniors and/or individuals with physical and mental challenges.
- Experience in conflict resolution with the ability to effectively problem solve and act appropriately in emergency situations.
- Effective interpersonal skills that facilitate effective working relationships with clients, colleagues, and other departments.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the aptitude to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.
- Experience writing and preparing a variety of documents and reports
- Effective verbal communication skills including the ability to present information to diverse audiences

**Desired**:

- First Aid/CPR Certification

**Duties**:
Reporting to the District Manager and functionally to the Manager of Specialized Tenant Services, the Tenant Activity Worker is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating diversified programs and recreational activities to meet the physical, cognitive, social and emotional interests and needs of the elderly tenant population residing in buildings where Social Housing Assisted Living (SHAL) services are provided, while ensuring that Manitoba Housing’s policies, procedures, and guidelines, are being followed. The branch is responsible for property management, maintenance, and tenant support functions in the delivery of the Social Housing Rental Program (SHRP). The Tenant Activity Worker works as part of a District team in delivering front
