IT Onsite/field Technician

Compudata Systems is London and area's leading IT service provider for businesses. They are currently looking to hire a new on-site field technician to join its evolving technical team. This is a mid-level position with the opportunity to move upwards within the company as your skills develop.
**Job Responsibilities and Tasks**:
Customer service:
- Work on and resolve escalated Helpdesk Tickets
- Delight our Clients with a Friendly, Quick and Helpful Experience
- Provide the Client with advanced on-site troubleshooting
- Provide the Client with on-site installation & removal of equipment
- On-Site Hardware Maintenance and Support
Use of Ticketing System:
- Use our Ticketing System to work on and resolve Helpdesk Tickets & Service Requests
- Managing and recording all work though our Ticketing System
- Make sure that Client Documentation in well maintained
- Split tickets that have several issues into their own individual ticket
- Make sure that tickets aren’t “stale” throughout the process
Project Work:
- Work with project manager to implement products and services on-site
Communication, Reporting & Risk:
- Create and maintain documentation for on-site processes
- Escalate tickets that require Customer Success Manager support
- Communicate to the client the status of their ticket every step of the way, notify them of any changes or outages related to their issue
- Identify, Communicate and assist with mitigating potential risks to the Technical Operations Manager and Clients
Teamwork:
- Follow the schedule provided by the Service Coordinator / Dispatcher
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for recurring tasks
- Follow all our Security Procedures and keeping a vigilant eye for security issues
- Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change
- Contribute to the process of innovative change effectively
- Undertake other duties as required by the Technical Operations Manager
- 3-5 years of providing end-user support with experience with Windows-based operating systems
- A love and ability to troubleshoot and solve technical problems and challenges
- Advanced understanding of support tools, techniques and how technology is used to provide services
- Advanced experience and understanding of structured cabling (tidy cable management is a _must_)
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Great customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and have strong organizational skills
- Ability to adapt to new processes and procedures in a dynamic environment
- Strong documentation skills, excellent verbal and written communication
- Technical background in supporting hardware such as servers, desktops, laptops and networking components
- Valid Driver’s License and own car
**Additional valued skills**:
- Experience at an IT support firm is considered an advantage
- Personal interest in technology ( Having a home lab, ect)
- Industry Certifications (Microsoft, CompTIA, Veeam, VMWare, etc)
- A post-secondary education with an IT specialization
- Virtualization technologies experience
- Microsoft Server 2016/2019/2022 experience
- Experience with business productivity suites such as Microsoft 365 and G Suite.
- Experience with networking vendors (Sophos XG/XGS Firewall Devices, Unifi Switches and Access Points)
- Experience in customer service and end-user communication
- Experience in remote monitoring and management software, ticketing systems

**Note**:
This position is on-site based out of our office located in London, Ontario. Daily commute to our office and/or client sites is required.
