**The Behavioural Support Resource Team Lead**

The Behavioural Support Resource Team Lead is a Registered Practical Nurse who provides direct clinical support for residents with responsive behaviours. They will recognize that behaviours have meaning and identify contributing factors as an essential part of the assessment and care planning process. They assess the meaning, contributing factors and associated risks of behaviours using an objective, systematic and holistic process and identify non-pharmacological strategies to prevent and respond to expressed responsive behaviours/personal expressions, including recommendations to mitigate associated risks. They collaborate with the resident, their family and interprofessional team members including liaising with psychiatrists, physicians, geriatricians and other specialty care providers as required.
- Current RPN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Three to five years’ experience in assessing and treating older adults with dementia especially with residents with responsive behaviors.
- Demonstrated excellent clinical reasoning and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, creativity, organization skills and ability to adapt to change.
- P.I.E.C.E.S., GPA, or Montessori training a strong asset whether completed or enrolled.
- Current certification in psychiatric/mental health nursing or other relevant geriatric mental health or gerontology certifications a strong asset

Please note that if hired, your employment with Markhaven will be contingent on the results of a police vulnerable sector check and a two-step Mantoux tuberculosis test. A condition of employment with Markhaven, is requiring that all new hires have received all required doses of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by Health Canada, due to the importance of protecting our residents, staff members and visitors from Covid-19.

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: From $26.68 per hour
