As a Team Lead on the Street Pricing team, you will be leading rate initiatives to drive profitable growth for a $4B Personal Insurance business. You will get the opportunity to use data to put the customer first at a massive scale, using advanced analytical techniques and rich data sets, overlaying that with deep business knowledge to create actionable insights, models and tools that support Aviva’s strategic priorities and help customers defy uncertainty. As a Team Lead, you provide leadership to other staff, manage your projects, and create brilliant presentations. By finding solutions to challenging problems and presenting to senior management, you will have plentiful opportunities to take your skills to the next level. 

What you’ll do

  • Ensure balance between technical price and business insights drawn from analysis.
  • Develop tools to improve impact analysis and filing exhibits.  A mindset of constant improvement towards efficient decision-making is key.
  • Work with the Analytics team on implementing sophisticated models for auto and property.
  • Effectively collaborate and develop a working relationship with the Technical Pricing, Analytics, Segment Owners, Underwriting and Enablement and other teams in Personal Insurance to achieve your region or channel’s strategy.
  • Obtain a deep understanding of the book of business to explain the key factors underlying the emerging experience and to provide strategic insights and recommended actions to stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership to strategic projects as assigned.
  • Prepare and support regulatory rate filings and document actuarial pricing process and models.
  • Coach junior staff and act as a technical expert and mentor for senior and junior analysts.
  • Be actively involved in the actuarial community at Aviva.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Math or Statistics or other related subjects
  • Minimum of 6 CAS exams
  • Minimum 4 years of P&C work experience
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to coach and mentor junior actuaries
  • Actuarial curiosity to learn and explore new solutions
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Ability to lead projects and manage timetables and stakeholders
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Python and/or SAS. Knowledge of VBA is an asset
