**Catering Sales Manager**

**Reports to**: Director of Sales & Marketing and Director of Food & Beverage

**JOB SUMMARY**

Responsible for preparing all event documentation and coordinating with Sales, property departments and customers to ensure consistent, elevated service throughout pre-event, event, and post-event stages of property events. This position primarily services, books and details meetings and events. Ensures property events have a seamless turnover from sales to service back to sales. Identifies opportunities to maximize revenue prospects by up-selling and offering enhancements to create outstanding events.

**Responsibilities**:

- Implement a successful solicitation strategy to targeted accounts to achieve or exceed revenue goals.
- Responsible for the achievement of wedding and social segment revenue goals and to uncover social associations, Embassy and Wedding Events.
- Provide updated intelligence related to market trends, comp sets, industry updates, and new events in the city.
- Participate in meetings, trainings and other sales related activities as required.
- Maintain sales calls, sites, prospecting, objectives, and relevant action plans for each key account/key prospect and or new accounts, for the hotel.
- Contribute to planning, developing, and implementing promotional strategies for Wedding events.
- The primary goal is to be spent on interaction with clients and ensuring guest’s satisfaction through wedding sales calls, site inspections, phone calls and Sales Blitz, with presence on the banquet floor.
- Knowledge of food and beverage menu planning, food and beverage preparation and presentation.
- Able to communicate at all levels and comfortable creating presentations.
- Greets customer during the event phase and hands-off to the Event Operations team for the execution of details.
- Adheres to all standards, policies, and procedures.
Reviews comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees.
- Observes service behaviors of employees and provides feedback to individuals and/or managers.
- Works with the property staff and customers to address operational challenges associated with his/her groups.
- Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

To conduct work inside and outside the Catering and Sales office in a manner that meets and exceeds our guests’, inter-departmental and associate’s expectations within our Sheraton standards.
- Capable of generating excitement among new, existing, or former guests with warm and sincere customer experiences while adding value & delight
- Complete activity goals by making the necessary number of sales calls telephone, outside and site visits.
- Prioritize daily activities to work towards meeting targets and financial goals
- Connect with existing prospects to ensure we are securing business
- Attend events outside the hotel.
- Preparation of proposals, event orders and contracts
- Completion of all administrative duties while meeting deadlines
- Preparation of weekly, monthly Catering and Sales reports and expense reports
- Build a strong work relationship with all other departments
- Keep proper records in CITY
- Attend Wedding and Trade shows
- Adhere to hotel recycling program to eliminate unnecessary waste, reduce expenditures, and contribute to Marriott policy towards environmental protection.

**Leading Event Management Teams**
- Conducts formal pre
- and post-event meetings as required to review/communicate group needs and feedback.
- Leads formal pre-event and post-event meetings for average to large-sized assigned groups.
- Facilitates various meetings as he/she perceives necessary (Banquet Event Order meeting, block review, etc).

**Supporting and Coordinating with the Sales and Marketing Function**
- Assists in the sales process and revenue forecasting for customer groups.
- Up-sells products and services throughout the event process.
- Forecasts group sleeping rooms and event revenue (catering and audio visual) for his/her groups.

**Physical Demands for this position**:
- Must be able to sit or stand for extended period of time and be able to type and answer the phone continuously.
- Might be asked to attend trade shows where standing for an extended period of time will be necessary.
