**Role**:
Reporting to the Manager, the Program Financial Team Lead provides leadership, manages the day-to-day operations and human resources issues while providing direction and guidance to staff and business partners. This includes ensuring all transactions, business and system processes related to 1GX, Mobius, AE Digital Strategy, tuition refunds, reconciliation of accounts, grant & payment reconciliations, recoveries & collections, bankruptcies, and stop payments are completed timely and are accurate.

The role of Program Financial Team Lead will perform the following responsibilities:

- Lead a small team of individuals who perform tasks for the FLSD portfolio.
- Collaborate with the Program Financial Team Lead on the Student Financial Services program side to ensure consistency, problem solving, and continuously improve the unit's business processes to be efficient and effective.
- Provides background information, clarifies operational processes to assist in resolving policy matters. Analyze and interpret complex background information (business plans, audits, financials, etc.), in order to identify specific elements (programs, processes, business, etc.) that require review within each assigned area under review.
- Collaborate and work directly with Financial Services staff regularly.
- Subject matter expert for the development of the AE Digital Strategy system including developing processes and flow into 1GX.
- Provide leadership and direction to staff, contractors and services providers for all business processes and operational policies pertaining to the Foundational Learning Assistance program.
- Review and approve service provider transactions related to student funding from Treasury Board and Finance - Crown Debt Collections (TBF-CDC), Children's Services, Labour & Immigration, and Alberta Advanced Education Investigators.
- Lead PFS tasks and participates in FLSD and CETT's annual T4A and T5007 tax slip submission for house tax slip production via AE Digital Strategy and 1GX. Monitor and assist staff in submitting cancelled/ amended tax slips to CRA as required for grant to loan conversions throughout the year.

**Qualifications**:
Two-year diploma in a related field plus five years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described.

Equivalency:
Directly related experience or education considered on the basis of: one year of experience for one year of education or one year of education for one year of experience.

Assets:

- Bachelors Degree in Business in accounting, commerce, management or finance
- completed.
- Supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of Foundational Learning Assistance program including applicable policies and guidelines, business processes and procedures related to the scheduling and distribution funding to students, issuance of emergency grant funding, grant overpayment conversions, forecasting and CRA tax slip requirements and submissions.
- Knowledge/experience of T4A and T5007 tax slips issuance, amendments, cancellation.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of approaches for stakeholder communications and program management.
- Knowledge/experience working with various grants.
