**Salary**: $2073.50 to $2549.41bi-weekly ($54,118- $66,539.60/year)

**Role Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Program Financial Team Lead, the Program Financial Officer performs all responsibilities within the context of relevant Government and Ministry legislation, policies, directives, and guidelines.

The position provides support to the Manager and Program Financial Team Lead with reviewing the financial information reports from 1GX, compiling the data and reconciling against the Student Finance System to ensure accuracy and completeness. In addition, incumbent is responsible to review transactions for compliance with relevant procedures, policies, and regulations, and to ensure that they are processed on a timely basis. The Program Financial Officer monitors for control deficiencies, assists in developing internal controls and processes, and assists in implementing changes as required.

The Program Financial Officer performs the following tasks as a part of their role:

- 1GX expert in financial and accounts payable module.
- Perform reconciliation of various systems andaccounts. Support the preparation of budget, forecast, and cash flow submissions for Student Aid scholarships.
- Reconcile weekly and monthly 1GX reports to the grant ledgers to ensure all transactions have been accurately processed. Prepare adjusting journal entries as required.
- Process scholarship repayment cheques received from institutions. Determine the repayment amount to be applied to each program associated with student awards.
- Complete NPO manual payment requests for grant payments to institutions, students, and other stakeholders.
- Assist and participate with year-end activities to ensure reconciliations, adjustments, balancing are complete and follow policies, procedures and timelines.
- Review, analyze, verify grant repayments applied on Student Finance System (SFS), and, calculate the new taxable amount and determine tax year affected. Perform transactions related to the Coal and Electricity Transition Tuition Voucher Program (CETT) including payments, reconciliations, tracking, and communication to students.**APS Competencies**:

**Qualifications**:
High school diploma and four years of related experience.

**Equivalency**:

- Through understanding and knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Knowledge of accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger requirements and principle.
