Overview:
We are currently looking for someone to join our team in the role of **Accounts Payable Specialist.** This position is based out of our Waterloo office, with remote working options available.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Finance, this person will ensure that vendor transactions are processed in an accurate and efficient manner in accordance with the CarePartners mission statement, established policies and procedures, relevant legislation, government guidelines, the Collective Agreement and local contract requirements.
**This is a Full-Time position. Hours of work will be Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm and will be hybrid (rotation in office and in home).**

What The Role Involves:
- Receive vendor invoices, review for accuracy and completeness.
- Obtain necessary approvals according to company policy.
- Reconcile invoices to other systems as required, investigate variances to a resolution.
- Record and ensure proper coding and allocation to correct GL coding.
- Prepare EFT/cheque/credit card payments for review and approval.
- Sent payment advice upon the release of payments.
- Process expense reports in accordance with the employee expense reimbursement policy.
- Responds to branch and vendor inquiries; refers complex issues to manager or designate.
- Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies or misapplied payments.
- Perform Accounts Payable and Administrative filing duties.
- Assist in monthly reconciliations and prepares journal entries for accruals and accounts within accounts payable.
- Reviews and prepares monthly credit card reconciliation.
- Assists with the preparation of the annual financial audit and other audits as required.
- Ensure the strict confidentiality and privacy of financial records as they relate to the organization and its business partners.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You Bring:
- University or College degree/diploma in Accounting, Business or Finance
- Minimum of 3 year of experience
- Experience with accounts payable automation.
- Ability to prepare ad hoc reports using Microsoft Excel
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Must be able to handle confidential information in an ethical and professional manner.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
- Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to respond appropriately in pressure situations with a calm and steady
