**Our Team**:
As an integral member of the Treasury management team, you will be part of a dynamic and committed group working together on the Treasury Functions at the Region. You will co-lead the Accounts Payable and Corporate accounting teams to support Region programs through strong internal controls, financial reporting and service excellence. You’ll be expected to lead or co-lead emerging strategic Finance initiatives and collaborate with staff across the Region in the delivery of world-class service.

**The Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Manager, Treasury Services, this exciting opportunity would be well suited for a transformational leader who is looking to be part of a dynamic team. The Supervisor, Corporate Accounting, and Accounts Payable will be responsible for corporate accounts payable services, ensuring the implementation of proper controls and authorizations. This role supervises the provision of budgeting, accounting, financing, and financial analysis services, and support for assigned client areas. This role also oversees monthly corporate accounting functions and year-end accounting, audit, and Financial Information Return processes for the corporation. Additionally this role coordinates and assists with annual ongoing PCI DSS compliance activities and supervises the corporation’s employee expense program.
- You will coordinate and oversee the annual year end processes and prepare the Region’s annual financial statements and Financial Information Return and work with auditors to resolve issues/concerns identified during the audit process.
- You bring your experience in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the correct processing of invoices and internal controls, oversee the reconciliation of corporate and payroll general ledger accounts, and review reports to ensure standards for volume, quality, and timeliness are met.
- You will participate in the implementation of efficiency initiatives, PCI DSS compliance activities and review large capital and operating expenditures for compliance.
- You will participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the corporation’s Fraud Risk Management framework and program.
- You will Identify and record tangible capital asset accounting information per municipal reporting requirements and for use in year end financial statements.
- You will participate in the preparation of monthly and periodic financial reports for the corporate leadership team and Administration & Finance Committee for client areas.
- You will administer the general ledger, accounts payable, and tangible capital assets modules of the corporate financial information system including reviews of functionality requirements, create test scenarios, maintains access and security and coordinates system upgrades.
- You will oversee the implementation and ongoing requirements of accounting changes, per Accounting Board requirements, including the financial framework, financial statement presentation, and tangible capital asset planning and accounting.
- You will review, prepare and provide financial implications for procurement reports for client program areas prior to final review.
- You will be used to supervising the preparation of monthly sales tax returns, reviews tax calculations collected on revenue and tax paid on expenditures, develop and implement accounting procedures and processes to reflect changes in taxation rules and policy, and coordinate audits of sales taxes and recommends tax rulings from Agency/Ministry.
- You will supervise payments to elected officials, council appointees, and employees for work expenses, ensuring policy compliance, and reviews and handles disputed claims, participates in the annual council report regarding council and council appointee expenditures and remuneration and assist in development of policies, rules, and forms with HR related to employee expense claims, and communicate changes to staff.
- A professional accounting designation (CPA) is mandatory for this position
