**Position Overview**

The Attendant, Transit Maintenance & Facility is responsible for maintaining the Transit building facilities (Transit Headquarters and John Street Terminal) and perform maintenance on assets located at the transit bus stop, including bus shelters, pads and signage to ensure safety, cleanliness and rider experience satisfaction.

**Responsibilities**

Main responsibilities include:

- Responding to bus stop emergencies where a hazard or risk is presented to the public, which requires the removal and/or flag hazardous condition to transit riders and public.
- Regular maintenance of bus stops that may includes installing bus stop poles and benches, general shelter repairs, setting up temporary bus stops, banding stop signs to light posts.
- General maintenance and cleaning inside Transit facilities including light repair work like painting, changing fluorescent light tubes, minor plumbing, assembling office furniture, cleaning of bus storage area and ensuring facility is safe for staff; winter maintenance around the building specifically ensuring staff entrances are free of ice and snow; changing and sweeping garbage.
- Working with contractors doing work around the facility.
- Addressing Health & Safety concerns.
- Responding to customer complaints regarding bus stops.
- Maintain daily written records and report issues to supervisor

**Requirements**:
You have experience in facility and general maintenance. Must be comfortable with physical work and have experience operating a variety of hand and power tools in a safe manner. Must be able to prepare written reports, read and comprehend policy and procedural documents, maintain detailed logs and interact with transit staff and customers. You also have good judgement, decision making and customer service skills.

A valid G driver’s licence is required with an acceptable driver’s abstract (no more than three (3) driving related convictions or an accumulation of no more than three (3) demerit points in the previous three (3) years prior to the date of hire).
