**Desired Qualifications**:

- Graduation from a recognized recreation or therapeutic recreation post-secondary program plus one years’ recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- 1-2 years related experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- 1 year experience in recreation program planning an asset
- Non-violent crisis intervention training an asset
- Training in non-verbal communication an asset
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid Food Safe certification
- Community Living BC Privacy and Information Management (online course)
- Ministry of Citizens’ Services FOIPPA Foundation Course Exam (online course)
- Class 5 driver’s licence

**Key responsibilities**:

- Curate program activities and events that fulfill our Participants’ goals and needs as reflected in their Individual Service Plans and ensure seamless operations
- Consult with staff to schedule internal activities
- Book external activities for Participants
- Establish strong relationships with facility partners such as the Lewis Centre
- Write with input from staff and the A/Executive Director/CEO the monthly calendars outlining planned activities and events
- Draft with input from the A/Executive Director/CEO correspondence such as letters home and monthly newsletters to keep stakeholders informed
- Assist staff during scheduled events and allocate tasks as needed
- Maintain open lines of communication with caregivers, addressing inquiries and issues, consulting with the A/Executive Director/CEO when necessary
- Ensure staff members are well-informed of program changes and upcoming events
- Regularly update the program's Facebook page
- Provide support to the A/Executive Director/CEO to increase Beaufort Association’s profile in the community.

**Operations**:

- Liaise regularly with the A/Executive Director/CEO, Program Support Worker and Office Support Worker
- Facilitate the smooth, daily flow of programming

**Administration Duties**:

- Manage the Program Budget
- Maintain a clean and organized office
- Maintain the stakeholder database
- Deliver to stakeholders the monthly calendars and newsletters, and letters home - currently by Mailchimp

Note: This is not a supervisory role but works alongside staff. This position reports to the A/Executive Director/CEO.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Temporary

**Salary**: From $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
