**How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team**:
Under the general guidance and direction of the Project Manager, Conservation Lands, this position is responsible for coordinating the technical components of TRCA’s conservation land and trail assets and user assessment, monitoring and data management initiatives, including trail and land asset inventories and audits, visitor monitoring, trail accessibility assessments, as part of the TRCA Conservation Land Care Program and for projects beyond this program upon request.

As part of asset management programs and regular maintenance, this position leads a team of field staff to complete regular assessment and monitoring responsibilities, and to create, assign, track and resolve Work Orders. This position provides technical input on site securement and protection issues and on land and trail asset data collection and analysis.

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Coordinate recreational asset inspections and development of related Work Orders in line with established plans, programs and Levels of Service,
- Liaise with other TRCA staff to deliver coordinated asset management, boundary securement and encroachment resolution,
- Provide appropriate technical expertise and/or procure external services as required to support projects.
- Coordinate data management for TRCA recreational assets as required, including GIS datasets, asset management software and field data collection, Provide timely analysis of this data to inform land management activities and performance reports.
- Assist with the development and supervision of field-based data collection programs including asset and boundary inspections, trail use counters and accessibility assessments. Provide corresponding guidance and direction to employees, volunteers or external contractors to ensure cost and quality control.
- Assist with the tracking and reporting of asset management expenditures of approved projects and programs. Work with the Project Manager and others as required to keep projects on schedule and budget.

**What will you need to succeed**:

- Post-secondary education in environmental planning, parks management, environmental science, asset management, landscape planning and design, or related discipline.
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License (G) in good standing.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience related to the major tasks, parks management, asset management, trail/landscape construction, landscape operations and maintenance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer service orientation: being able to listen and comprehend needs of others and ability to meet requirements and consider ways of exceeding and providing exceptional service.
- Knowledge of basic report writing and data processing and analysis skills including MS Office Suite.
- Able to comprehend written documentation and procedural guidelines; skilled in writing clear correspondence (concise, logical, grammatically correct).
- Knowledge of the Conservation Authorities Act, Trespass to Property Act, Infrastructure for Jobs and Prosperity Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, and associated regulations.
- Ability to communicate effectively with tact and courtesy.
- Effective problem-solving and leadership skills including staff supervision, coaching and mentoring.
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office suite including online software such as MS teams and SharePoint).
- Demonstrated computer proficiency with related software, with ArcGIS and/or asset management software preferred.
- Excellent organization skills; both in-office and virtual files/shared office spaces.
- Able to self-manage workload and prioritize tasks as an ongoing challenge in a frequently fluctuating workload and multiple deadlines.
