As a senior life and health insurance advisor, you help serve, prospect for, solicit, and develop and maintain business relationships with members and clients. You help sell life and health insurance products and services through various distribution channels based on member/client needs and current strategies and practices. Your focus areas include individual insurance, group insurance and retirement savings plans, insurance brokerage, segregated funds, travel insurance, and life and health insurance claims settlement.

You lead clients and practitioners on sales and service development projects, initiatives and activities that significantly impact the entire organization and involve multiple business sectors. You take a strategic mindset to boost the organization’s development and profitability while retaining clients and stakeholders and ensuring their satisfaction.

You draw on your networking skills and interpersonal savvy to develop and maintain business partnerships with important clients who have complex, diverse needs. Your complex, strategic initiatives require extensive knowledge of sales and service. You analyze complex problems and develop and implement personalized solutions tailored to client needs.

In addition to serving as specialist and resource person for your unit, members and clients, you represent your unit before decision-making bodies. You help represent Desjardins and enter the organization into important agreements with clients.

General Information on the Position

Main responsibilities- Maintain and develop business relationships with a defined block of clients and intermediaries across Ontario- Promote solutions and service offerings in accordance with the business unit's objectives and strategies- Work with clients with ongoing and diversified needs that represent significant development potential for the business unit- Analyze client needs, propose, design and implement solutions to help clients achieve their objectives- Support the sales team by participating in short list and other presentations to showcase our service offer - including such items, but not limited to, financial wellness, communication and reporting- Contribute to internal projects requiring in-depth knowledge of your business sector (group retirement savings) and bring the client’s perspective to the conversation- Develop relationships with colleagues in our Group Benefits Insurance area when there are joint opportunities- Be the voice of clients within Desjardins.

Specific responsibilities- Proactively manage a portfolio of clients and coordinate solutions with internal teams to provide services, develop strong client relationships and ensure a high level of client satisfaction- Collect and analyze data, prepare results-oriented reports and recommendations- Develop and prepare presentations on products and services to promote the plans to pension committees and at clients' annual general meetings- Establish business relationships with pension committees, pension plan sponsors, intermediaries, and other group retirement savings stakeholders to anticipate client needs and ensure their full satisfaction with our services- Organize client visits in accordance with service standards to build strong relationships with clients and maintain a high retention rate- Advise clients on the best solutions and strategies and agree on desired outcomes- Understand and research industry trends and make appropriate recommendations to ensure the development of best practices for the company- Ensure the development, retention and satisfaction of members and clients as well as stakeholders- Resolve issues with the help of internal teams, inform them of potential problems and make recommendations to improve client satisfaction.

**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field- A minimum of seven years of relevant experience- Retirement and savings experience, group or institutional

Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Hold the CEBS - Certified Employee Benefits Specialist Designation / (Retirement Plans Associate (RPA) (a strong asset)- Hold the CSC- Canadian Securities Course (an asset)
