Uplands Golf Club is one of only four private golf clubs in the Capital Region situated on 120 scenic acres adjacent to the University of Victoria. Just 10 minutes from downtown Victoria, it is also readily accessible from all other areas of Greater Victoria. Uplands held its first Canadian Tour event in 1984 and for the past 14 years has been the host club for the Victoria stop on the PGA Canadian Tour. The early June venue has been a favorite with the professionals from near and far all seeking to make their mark on manicured fairways and hard and fast greens.

The Uplands Golf Club is looking for a fulltime Clubhouse and Course facilities maintenance person - 5 days a week, 6am to 2.30pm, Sunday to Thursday.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Attends to all minor guest maintenance issues
- Assists with preventative maintenance on equipment and building envelope.
- Performs minor repairs in all areas of the Clubhouse, maintenance building and course washrooms
- Experience with painting, wall papering, minor dry wall repair, wood trim repair, minor plumbing repairs, light bulb and filter replacement
- Responsible for cleanliness of all public areas including washrooms and locker areas. Cleaning, vacuuming, Janitorial work, garbage removal, snow removal etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Performs regular janitorial cleaning functions including cleaning public areas and replenishing supplies.
- Completes records and reports.
- Follows all policies, procedures and standards of the Uplands Golf Club.
- Daily Food and Beverage set-up - moving tables and chairs, Barbeques and other equipment.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Knowledge of materials, tools and equipment used in janitorial and building maintenance work, including the safe handling of chemicals and corrosive materials.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision in carrying out semi-skilled mechanical, building maintenance and cleaning tasks.
- Knowledge and understanding of WorkSafe BC practices/protocols, Workers’ Compensation Act and OH&S Regulations and other relevant safety regulations.
- A minimum of 3 years in a property maintenance or construction role
- Valid class 5 driver’s license
- WHIMIS certificate (upon hiring)
- Valid First Aid
- Sufficient physical strength and stamina to perform the required duties.
