Colliers Niagara Management Ltd. is a full service property management company and is currently seeking a Bookkeeper/Property Administrator to join our team
**Purpose of the Position**
The Bookkeeper/Property Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing bookkeeping and administrative services, ensure effective and efficient operations as it relates to the Property Management Division.
**Scope**
The Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant reports to the Controller and is responsible for providing bookkeeping, administrative and clerical services. Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure that the property management operations are maintained.
**Responsibilities**
**1. Bookkeeping - Property Management**
a. Record day to day financial transactions and completing the posting process
b. Verify that the transactions are recorded in the correct posting period, general ledger, customer ledger and vendor ledger
c. Perform partial checks of the posting process
d. Complete government issued forms such as HST remittance, property tax rebates, and MPAC forms in an accurate and timely manner
e. Enter data, maintain records, create reports and financial statements
f. Reconcile and balance all accounts from the general ledger to the subledger
g. Process accounts receivable/payable
h. Prepare cheques, payments and bank deposits
i. Perform bank reconciliations on a monthly basis
j. Assist with budget preparation
k. Respond to accountant and owner requires timely
l. Post year end entries from accountants
m. Perform and post common area reconciliations at year end
**2. Administration - Property Management**
a. Maintain office files in a neat and orderly manner
b. Create correspondence on behalf of Property Managers to tenants, owners, etc.
c. Assist in lease, lease renewal, lease amendment ans assignment documents.
**3.** Perform other related duties as required
**Qualifications**:
- Post Secondary education in Business Administration, Accounting or related
- Must have 2+ years experience in accounting/bookkeeping
- Working experience in property management commercial, residential or condo is preferred
**Skills**:
- Team oriented
- Task driven
- Self motivated
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Works well with limited supervision
- Proficiency in English and in MS Office
- Accounting softwares
- Yardi Voyager experience is an asset
**Details**:
- Wage: $20-$23/hr
- 35/hr work week
- Work Schedule: Monday-Thursday 8:30 am-5:00 pm, Friday 9:00 am - 12:00 noon,
- Benefits after 3 months
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
