**Program Coordinator Position Description**

**Status**:Full time
**Hours**:37.5 hours per week
**Reports to**:Program Services Manager

- Position Description**:Under the supervision of the Program Services Manager, the Program Coordinator plans, implements, co-ordinates and monitors the peer support programs and activities at SeasonsCentre for Grieving Children.**Qualifications**:_
- Post-secondary education in the human services field.
- Minimum two years’ experience working in a support capacity with children, families, individuals, and groups.
- A thorough understanding of the grief process.
- Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and databases.
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Excellent problem solving and conflict resolutions skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Experience providing support on virtual platforms.

**Responsibilities**:

- Facilitate in person and virtual support groups with children, teens, young adults and/or adults.
- Preparation of program area including family room, kitchen, and side foyer
- Facilitate pre & post meetings with volunteers in each group.
- Implement and supervise the group activity.
- Consultation with caregivers.
- Supports open communication with caregivers/volunteers/staff.
- Collaborates with Program Services Manager regarding any issues/concerns regarding participants.
- Complete incident/disclosure logs and written notes when necessary.
- Complete written notes post group in group communication logbook.
- In collaboration with the Program Services Manager, develops, plans, and implements activities for all peer support programs.

- Keeps active inventory of program supplies.
- Collaborate with program staff in the design, implementation, and management of the annual Celebration of Life.
- Clinical community collaboration as assigned by Program Services Manager.
- Document all intakes: both in a hard copy and database file.
- Documents necessary information regarding volunteers (hours tracking, anniversary dates, etc.).
- Participates in training sessions of volunteers.
- Works alongside the Program Services Manager to facilitate the activities and support at

Camp Skein at the end of July.
- Co-ordinate and complete intakes with new participants and family members.
- Keeps abreast of sector changes via workshops, seminars, or educational forums.
- Supports the Program Services Manager with end of the month reporting.
- Handling of program donations or raffles as needed.
- Working alongside the Development team to collaborate ideas and share information.
- Other duties as assigned periodically by the Program Services Manager

- $23-26 per hour
- 2 Weeks’ Vacation
