We are looking for an **Environmental Field Coordinator** at our Barrie location.

**Environmental Field Coordinator**

We are currently seeking an Environmental Field Coordinator to join our team. As Walker Industries continues to grow, environmental compliance has become an increasingly integral function for the organization’s business units.

**Key Accountabilities**:
The Environmental Field Coordinator will perform various functions, including but not limited to the following:

- Conducts field monitoring/sampling as per permit requirements. Responsible for record-keeping and analysis/review of field monitoring results. Communicates any issues to the Environmental Performance Business Partner.
- Delivers and/or supports facility supervisors in the delivery of environmental-related training programs to facility employees.
- Conducts and/or supports facility supervisors in conducting site-level inspections as per corporate policies and regulatory/permit requirements.
- Develops and/or supports facility supervisors in the development of corrective action plans related to facility inspections, government inspections and corporate inspections. Provides support and guidance to facility supervisors in closing out action items.
- Provides support to the Environmental Performance Business Partner with government reporting, compliance audits, and other corporate environmental program initiatives (climate, energy, and sustainability).

**Qualifications**:
A minimum of a college diploma/university degree in environmental science, or similar, is required for this role. Professional designation (C.E.T. or other) is considered an asset.
- Proven ability to adapt and be flexible to changing schedules and circumstances.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively, written and orally, to varying audiences.
- Proven ability to read, interpret and relay regulations and laboratory data.
- Detailed-oriented and thorough; ability to keep accurate records.
- Proven ability to work with limited supervision and to take discretionary action as required.
- Proven ability to set and prioritize work.

**Experience**:

- Greater than one (1) year in environmental science or environmental compliance fields.
- Experience conducting environmental monitoring with a focus on groundwater and surface waters including interpreting laboratory analytical results.
- Experience using field equipment such as YSIs, pH meters, water level meters and data loggers.
- Experience working with stakeholders including government agencies (i.e. Ministry of the Environment), environmental consultants and the public.
- Working experience with Adaptive Management Plans (AMPs) is considered an asset.
- Experience conducting audits is considered an asset.
- Working experience with aggregates (pits and quarries) is considered an asset.
- Technical experience working with data management software (i.e. MonitorPro) is considered an asset.
