**Summer Student Research Assistant**:
**Primary Purpose**: Field, logistics and laboratory support for soil sampling and analysis in support of multiple research programs focused in Saskatchewan agro-ecosystems.

**Nature of Work**: The fieldwork will be based in cropland, pastures and rangelands throughout Saskatchewan. Job duties will include soil sampling, with particular emphasis on clean sampling technique appropriate for soil microbial analyses; field preparation, sample management and organization, basic sample handling and processing. Other duties as required.

The position is from May 1, 2023 to August 31, 2023.

**Typical Duties or Accountabilities**:The summer research assistant will be accountable for ensuring that required field equipment and supplies have been organized and prepared. They will be accountable for ensuring samples are collected, transported, and stored appropriately, according to defined protocols and that the same are organized and accounted for.

**Education**: Minimum 2 years of university completed. Enrolled in degree program in soil science, agriculture or other earth sciences preferred.

**Licenses**: Valid driver’s license.

**Experience**: Prior classroom or employment experience with soil classification desirable. Previous soil microbiology experience preferred.

**Skills**: Must be able to perform physically demanding work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions for extended periods.
