Saskatoon, Canada Saskatoon Airport Authority Full time

The Environmental Summer Student will report directly to the Manager, Facilities and provide assistance in gathering, reporting and analyzing environmental data related to airport operations within four areas of work; Environment Management; Storm water/Glycol Management, Wildlife Management, and Sustainability initiatives. Typical tasks in each of these areas include:
**Storm water Management/Glycol**
- Storm water testing
- Operation of control valves
- Reviewing and updating drainage plans
- Glycol management plan documentation

**Wildlife**
- Conducting wildlife monitoring and patrols
- Assist in wildlife dispersal
- Complete a wildlife habitat study
- Wildlife identification

**Sustainability**
- Analyze utility consumption
- Gather information for Airport GHG inventory
- Innovative idea research

**Environment Management**
- Reviewing and updating Environment Management plan
- Best practices research
- Update record of on Airport inventory of Fuel tanks

The Environmental Summer Student role consists of both working in an office and field environment.

**Skills, Abilities & Qualifications**:
In addition:

- Quick learner
- Microsoft Windows & Office Suite
- Working towards a certificate in sustainability would be an asset
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Positive attitude
- Ability to exercise initiative and discretion
- Ability to deal courteously, tactfully and effectively with the public
- Ability to communicate in both official languages an asset
- Ability to perform in accordance with the SAA Corporate Code of Conduct
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Ability to operate a vehicle in a busy airport environment
- Physical ability to perform the assigned duties outdoors, for extended periods of time, and in various weather conditions

**Conditions of Employment**:

- Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver’s Licence
- Must obtain/maintain: Transportation Security Clearance and Airside Vehicle Operators Permit
