**About the Team**

Student Affairs at Toronto Metropolitan University is a team of educators, learners, and professionals dedicated to supporting students at every stage of their journey at Toronto Metropolitan University. We provide academic, professional, and personal development opportunities and support programs to all students in a variety of formats including online, in workshops and 1:1 appointments, through peer support and professional advising, and in partnership with Faculty and other campus partners.

**The Opportunity**:
Additionally, the Associate Director, Student Equity and Inclusion will lead the continued integration of support for international students including the intentional work of International Student Support to ensure inclusive support of international students across OVPS, ISEEI, and in faculties.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develops long range action plans and strategies to implement equity initiatives within Student Life & Learning Support (SLLS) for a diverse student body.
- Builds collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders and collaborators, both on and off-campus, who cater to BIPOC, cultural or faith-based groups, including Faculties, the Office of the Vice President, Equity, Community, and Inclusion, and Human Resources.
- Oversees the ongoing growth and development of the Tri-Mentoring Program, Black Student Support Programming, and International Student Support.

**Qualifications**

To help us learn more about you, please provide a cover letter and resume describing how you meet the following required qualifications:

- Successful completion of a post-secondary degree in student affairs, education, or related discipline. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in an academic and/or student affairs environment, with at least 3 years of experience managing staff in a unionized environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Highly developed problem solving skills, including the ability to assess situations from several perspectives and analyze likely repercussions of various choices.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to build and motivate teams, and inspire members to innovate while performing on budget and on schedule.
- Proven experience building relationships and partnering with key stakeholders and senior leaders in a higher education environment.
- Strong financial and business management skills, with the ability to draft budget proposals, forecast expenses and monitor relevant research and contract accounts.
- Excellent oral and written communication/interpersonal skills and the ability to present information in a persuasive fashion to teach and promote best practices.
- Well-developed marketing and relationship-building skills with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Bold, creative, and innovative leadership with the confidence to initiate unique programs and clarity of vision to articulate and advocate for the purposes of new initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of current and relevant student development theories as well as familiarity with the concerns and lifestyles of university students.
- Excellent event management, project management and financial management skills.
- Intermediate computer skills including knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing.
- Ability to work in a complex, rapidly changing environment.
