- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with instrument handling and reprocessing

- Enhances knowledge of current CSA regulations and standards
- Preferred
- O.R. experience an asset.

- Possess an in-depth knowledge of instrument sets, including individual names of instruments.
- Understanding of inventory management.
- Enhanced knowledge of asepsis principles and sterilization protocols.
- Organizational skills.

- Able to work accurately while working alone or on a team
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of Operating Room/Emergency Room instruments and trays.
- Demonstrated ability to support and embrace the philosophy of Service Excellence and Patient and Family Centred Care.
- Demonstrated participation in building a culture of safety and partnering with each other to improve the safety of patient care processes and systems.
- Demonstrated performance reflecting the Mission, Vision, Values and Code of Conduct of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

**ACCOUNTABILITIES (Major Responsibilities of the Position)**
- Carries out daily functions in Medical Device Reprocessing Department including decontamination, reprocessing, instrument care and handling, sterilization, ordering supplies and case cart preparation in accordance with CSA standards, AAMI, CSAO standards and OHSA.
- Ability to clean instruments, stainless steel and equipment.
- Ensures safe handling of all instrumentation.
- Maintains inventory of sterile/unsterile instrument and supplies.
- Ensures proper picking / packing of case cart system according to established guidelines.
