**Position Overview**:
NUVIA is currently recruiting for a **Radiation Protection Technician **to join our growing environmental remediation support team for US outage opportunities.

**Application deadline is May 30, 2024.**

**Responsibilities include but not limited to**:

- Read and fully understand all the RP procedures and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Attend daily pre and post job briefings.
- Perform measurement of Alpha, Beta and Gamma radiation fields.
- Measure surface contamination using either radiation detectors or swipe sampling.
- Collection and measurement of airborne contamination.
- Deployment of airborne radiological monitors.
- Perform source checks of RP instrumentation.
- Ensure control and calibration of all radiation detection equipment.
- Provide RP coverage/support to Remediation, Characterization/Delineation and XRF LAB at any given time.
- Conduct work as per requirements outlined in compliance documents and as per all the RP procedures.
- Complete unconditional release surveys and required regulatory surveys.
- Daily summary and analysis of routine data for compilation into routine reports/forms.
- Complete all required RP training
- Ensure compliance with site radiation safety procedures by workers and visitors.
- Maintenance of RP facilities and equipment.
- Support the RP management and site management teams.
- Provide coaching, mentoring and guidance to other RP technicians, and supervise radiological work.

**Skills / Qualifications**:

- 6000+ hours of Green Radiation Protection experience is necessary
- A degree in Radiation Protection from an accredited college or university
- Green Badge or relevant work experience
- Strong ability to use Microsoft Office Applications (especially Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion
- Solid interpersonal skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Capable of completing a fit test and wearing a respirator when required
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
- Must be able to obtain and maintain necessary site security clearance
- Must be able to travel internationally
- Must be able to communicate clearly in English, both written and orally
