People & Culture provides programs, services and partnership in support of CUE’s Comprehensive institutional Plan and strategic goals. The department supports the university with effectively managing compliance, procedural and administrative requirements and assists leaders with managing change and seeking ways to maximize employee engagement across the university.

As a proactive strategic partner, the People & Culture Advisor provides expertise and coaching in the areas of employee relations, employee engagement and talent acquisition. The People & Culture Advisor also coaches leaders in the areas of attendance management, ability management, talent acquisition and employee engagement.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provides talent acquisition advice and support for academic staff, non-academic staff and leadership positions within an assigned portfolio as follows:

- Needs Identification
- Planning
- Sourcing
- Selection
- Hiring
- Partners with leaders to ensure that people practices are informed by best practices and align with CUE’s mission, vision, organizational strategies, legislation, policies and the collective agreement in the following areas:

- Employee Relations
- Labour Relations
- Performance Management
- Workplace Wellness & Safety
- Provides expertise and support with processes associated with the Job Evaluation and Classification program at CUE.
- Conducts job evaluations to determine correct classification of new positions and communicates results of evaluations with managers.
- Reviews position requisitions of existing positions to ensure that responsibilities and tasks associated with positions continue to be aligned with the classifications previously assigned to the roles, making recommendations for changes to leaders as required.
- Participates in employee engagement programs and initiatives including developing and facilitating training on a variety of topics associated with staff and leadership development.
- Leads or participates in human resources initiatives and projects as assigned.
- Contributes to the continuous improvement of human resource practices, processes and client service.
- Maintains knowledge on an ongoing basis of HR best practices, changes in legislation and Human Resources issues and priorities.

**Requirements**:

- An undergraduate degree or diploma in Human Resources is required.
- Two to three years’ human resource experience in a generalist role.
- Working towards CHPR designation is considered an asset.
- Experience in the administration of payroll, benefits and/or pension programs an asset
- Knowledge of human resource best practices and relevant legislation
- Ability to deliver high-quality and timely internal client service while managing multiple deadlines
- Ability to interpret and administer policies and procedures
- Satisfactory Criminal Records Check results
