We are currently looking for a full-time **Program Supervisor **to join our Intake team at YESS

What We Do

Based in Edmonton, Youth Empowerment and Support Services (YESS) provides immediate and low-barrier 24/7 shelter, daytime programs and resources, temporary supportive housing, and individualized wrap-around supports for young people aged 15-24.

We work collaboratively within a network of care focused on the prevention of youth homelessness by providing youth with the necessary supports to stabilize their housing, improve their wellbeing, build life skills, connect with community, and avoid re entry into homelessness.

What You Will Do

This individual will be highly organized and can demonstrate strong behavior management skills. They will support YESS personnel and youth in the program and role model socially and professionally acceptable behavior. They will ensure all youth who access YESS services complete an intake and, if needed, youth who access crisis shelter services have secure and caring experience.

Responsibilities include:

- Supervise a diverse team of Transition and Outreach Workers, Site Coordinator and Kitchen Coordinator, promoting team effectiveness through excellent communication strategies, adequate resources, performance reviews, education and ongoing supervision
- Support team to provide client-centered services by developing strength-based, integrated and comprehensive crisis intervention plans, individualized plans, helping clients formulate goals by addressing the strengths and needs of each individual
- Participate in the recruitment, selection and orientation of new team members
- Maintain client records, including client assessments, treatment plans and progress notes
- Provide support and feedback with staffs' required documentation, monthly summaries, and critical incident reports
- Ensures that access to and disclosure of information and records are in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Privacy Act
- Provide support and consultation as required to the scheduling and after-hours On-Call team

Additionally, you will provide a professional level of service to donors, promote the agency in a positive manner to the outside community and share information, communicate, and collaborate with other YESS staff.

The Intake supervisor will guide and support the team as they provide the highest quality of care for youth who access YESS. Will support staff and youth from a trauma informed scope, role model socially and professionally acceptable behaviours and align with YESS' values.

The Intake Supervisor will possess a combination of the following competencies:

What You Bring
- A certificate, diploma or degree in Child and Youth Care or other related Human Services
- A minimum of two years’ experience in the human services field (working with youth facing difficult realities)
- A minimum of one year in a leadership role or similar
- Experience working in intake, risk assessment, and safety planning
- Knowledge of the values, beliefs, and practices of Aboriginal and other cultural and diverse groups

Prerequisites
- Training in first aid, and/or non-violent crisis intervention
- Training in suicide intervention and harm reduction
- Clear police clearance (CRIM) and a Child and Youth Intervention (CYIM) checks, both obtained within the last six months
- Valid driver’s license and driver’s abstract
- Regardless of work location you will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved accommodation. Rapid testing will not be accepted as an alternative to vaccination, except individuals who cannot be vaccinated based on medical or other protected grounds outlined in the Alberta Human Rights Act
