**Basic Function**:   The Toronto Zoo is seeking a Systems Administrator Level 2  to provide hands-on support across the Zoo. A self-motivated, reliable individual who works well in the team environment, is enthusiastic about technology, likes to solve problems, and has effective written and oral communications skills, is being sought.  Toronto Zoo Technology team is passionate about the guest experience for visitors and staff we support.

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage, monitor, secure, and troubleshoot our SaaS platform through the Azure Web Services cloud environment.
- Install, configure and maintain physical, virtualized and cloud servers (Vmware/Azure etc.)
- Install, configure and maintain Windows Server OS, AD, DNS, DHCP, Hyper-V servers, SAN and NAS storage.
- Implement and support Office 365.
- Plan, execute and provide day-to-day technical support and administration.
- Accurately record, update and document support requests using the service desk system.
- Develop and document system standards for computer, network and security devices.
- Recommend and schedule network changes and upgrades.
- Fulfill service agreements with respect to availability, performance, capacity and security.
- Setup and configure all client software and hardware systems.
- Monitor client systems and identify potential and actual problems.
- Monitor tape and disk backup systems.
- Monitor firewall and network security and performance.
- Remain up-to-date on new features and updates in Azure.
- Troubleshoot and optimize system performance and conduct security tests.
- Occasional evening and/or weekend work required.

**Qualifications**:

- Computer programming and Admin completed courses.
- Minimum 2 years Microsoft server support experience
- Minimum 2 years IT Service Desk Experience
- Communicate clearly and effectively to provide telephone and in-person user support to all levels of clients
- Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast moving environment
- Networking, backup, firewall and virtual server experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to multi-task, prioritize and manage daily tasks
- Able to work BOTH independently and supervised
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Able to walk to client sites and climb stairs
- Patient and supportive with all users
