**Position Summary**
Under the supervision and guidance of the Manager, Student Systems & Special Projects, the part-time Systems and Special Projects Officer acts as the primary contact for system operational support. Responsibilities include the processing of standard Banner security request, the running of predefined Banner jobs, updating requested fields within Banner, fee statements, academic resource planning processes and day school web registration audit clean-up, Aismartr reporting and other cyclical items requiring support
**Responsibilities**
- Incumbent will review request for Banner security sent to ESSystem by the College community. Tasks include running predefined Aismartr reports to ascertain current level of Banner security and the requirement listed within the request. Once security level has been determined, incumbent will draft the required communication to the required stakeholders (helpdesk, DBA, and security requester) for updates. For cases where security request needs additional approval the incumbent will discuss requirements with the Systems and Special Project Officer/Manager of Systems to determine required level.
- The incumbent will be responsible for updating data fields within Banner based on request by the college community. Data updates within various areas of Banner include but are not limited to updates of faculty status, section updates, student biographical information and account information.
- The incumbent will assist with running Aismartr reports or updating the schedule of preexisting reports as requested by college stakeholders. In addition, the incumbent will work with the Systems and Special Projects Officer to develop any required reports.
- Provides recommendations to resolve systems inefficiencies and ensure successful outcomes.
- Follows identified steps of testing (processes/specification)
- Compiles project status reports (outcome/issues identified) for review by Director of Student Systems, Records & Scheduling or Registrar as required, and project coordinator or technical lead.
- Participates as a member of a team in the provision of technical training / technical user support / guidance to Enrolment Service Office staff for effective integration of changes / enhancements to native AIS and on-line systems
**Qualifications/Experience**
- 3 year diploma/degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.
- Minimum five (5) years experience of work experience in a post-secondary education environment working with an integrated student information system in the capacity of gathering and developing detailed business requirements.
- Intermediate knowledge of PC software, integrated student information database systems combined with keyboarding skills
- Working knowledge of Cognos Reporting Solution; AismartR
- Exceptional administrative skills combined with advanced computer literacy. MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required. Visio, MS Project an asset.
- Analytical, organizational, interpretive skills to plan projects, design solutions, and meet established targets.
- Ability to work under pressure
- Proven problem-solving/analytical skills with a keen sense of accuracy and attention to detail to ensure integrity of student records.
- Research/manipulate/interpret/organize/explain student enrolment database records and process a variety of information.
Proof of credentials or equivalencies from accredited regional or federal post secondary institutions and/or their foreign equivalents will be required at the time of job offer.
