**Salary**: $2,626.89 to $3,448.73 bi-weekly ($68,561 - $ 90,011/year)

**Role Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Operation Support Manager, the Regional Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator (ROC) facilitates implementation and coordinates delivery of the Parks Division OHS program within a specific geographic region. The ROC also contributes to development and harmonization of the provincial Parks Division OHS program.

The ROC supports development of the regional OHS plan in conjunction with the regional staff, and regularly audits OHS-related activities as well as measures, evaluates and reports on program performance. Implementing the regional OHS program requires field based observations, participation in field activities, and understanding the work practices, successes and challenges of delivery of safe work programs at the field level.

The ROC provides and coordinates OHS training, coordinates and conducts safety audits, manages OHS database systems, periodically conducts inspections, and provides OHS advice and information in order to meet legislative and policy requirements. The ROC also play as a key role in hazard management and significant incident investigations. The ROC will develop recommendations regarding safety measures to be taken as work is performed, and on safety systems and practices, both general and specialized.

The ROC also contributes in developing processes, procedures, and supporting tools related to implementing the GOA OHS program within Parks Division. The ROC will evaluate the implementation and maintenance of the regional OHS program in accordance with the requirements of the GOA Occupational Health and Safety Program, and aligned with the branch, divisional, ministry and GOA OHS plans.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Coordinates the development and implementation of annual safety initiatives along with maintaining and enhancing the current program so that the program/initiatives from the Division meet the OH&S plan objectives and outcomes
- Provides consultation, advice and information on occupational health and safety legislation, standards, programs and program requirements to ensure the Region is meeting is obligations regarding a safe workplace
- Contributes to the development and maintenance of the Parks Division OHS program
- Develops and maintains effective and productive internal and external working relationships to facilitate an integrated safety culture and leverage knowledge and information in the development and implementation of regional health and safety programs
- Promotes and foster a safety culture within the Region and Division - foster positive staff safety awareness and education (safety practices, GoA safety program)
