Heavy Equipment Operator

GFL Sudbury is looking for an equipment operator/site Foreman who will be responsible for completing projects by scheduling materials, equipment, and personnel; monitoring progress, enforcing code and safety regulations.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Ensuring compliance with all Environmental Compliance Approvals;
- Co-ordinate and organize daily work for employees and resources;
- Monitoring and improving production levels;
- Setting daily as well as weekly & monthly goals to be completed;
- Ensure all staff and sub-contractors operate in a safety conscious manner;
- Participating in the Emergency Response and Remedial Action Plan (ERRAP);
- Make suggestion for revisions to Health and Safety and/or corporate policies and participate in regular Health and Safety (including tool box) meetings;
- Control truck traffic entering GFL Environmental Property
- Weigh trucks in/out and generate scale tickets as necessary;
- When necessary updating tracking software - Biotrack2 database;
- Accurate and thorough completion of daily timesheets;
- Training new staff while promoting GFL Safety Culture with respect to Safety Regulations and Company Policies;
- Responsible for conducting/facilitating all maintenance, inspection and calibration of all process and pollution control equipment, as well as all preventative maintenance programs and protocols.
- Ensuring the preparation of microbe solutions as per suppliers instructions;
- Facilitating the construction, operation, and tear down of biopiles;
- Ensuring the completion of daily site inspections and timely rectification of any defects;
- Operation of soil testing equipment & preparing soil samples for chemical analysis
- Other duties as assigned
**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**:
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance and the ability to perform small repairs
- Knowledge of operation of front end loaders, excavators, dozers, skid steer loaders, stackers, screeners, and other pieces of equipment
- Must be able to work in all weather, and must be prepared for both extreme heat and cold
