Our client is a top financial institution with significant North American holdings. They have operations across most major verticals, including institutional & corporate, wealth management, private client, commercial banking, treasury, and retail banking.

Introduction: Prime Hires is seeking a skilled Operations Officer with 2 years of experience in Trade Finance Operations preferably with a Financial Institution to join our client.

Contract Dates: 12 months with potential to extend or convert
Pay Rate: $35 per hour
Business Hours: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Job Responsibilities:

- Reviewing text of guarantees requested by clients and providing comments either directly to clients or relationship managers
- Drafting, issuing, advising and amending different types of SBLC/Guarantees and processing any other requests or correspondence regarding SBLC/ Guarantees issued or advise
- Releasing transactions as per volumes and requirements of the team
- Delivering timely and efficient services as per Service Level Agreements (SLA)
- Prioritize, manage and monitor day to day operations of the team and workflow and distribute daily requests among officers and ensure maximum efficiency
- Participate in monthly reporting and reconciliation tasks
- Ensure appropriate controls are in place to minimize risk
- Provide technical advice to clients/partners
- Ensure consistency & accuracy of the process
- Identify potential risks and operational gaps; recommend and document resolutions
- Ensures due diligence is completed as part of all transactions, as per terms of the trade finance AML procedures
- Execute on ad-hoc requests

Experience & Qualification Requirements:

- 2 to 3 years trade finance
- AML experience and knowledge
- Strong communication skills - need to be comfortable interacting with clients
- Experience in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrate strong process management skills
