**About VoPay International Inc.**
VoPay is a leader in payment innovation, digitizing direct bank payments with speed and transparency. The VoPay Platform enhances how businesses initiate and accept financial transactions using a single, open API. At VoPay, we have one goal: to eliminate all payment inefficiencies, so businesses can focus on what they do best in today’s digital economy.
**The Opportunity**
As a Product Director with in-depth fintech experience, you will be responsible for leading end-to-end product development, from discovery and definition of requirements to product launch and success. You are entrepreneurial, a strategic and analytical thinker, customer-obsessed, and a data storyteller.
In this role, you and your team will be responsible for achieving the company's top goals by developing and executing VoPay’s BaaS and PaaS strategies.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Be responsible for product vision and strategy. You will own the creative process of generating, developing, and curating new ideas. By understanding the connections between the overall product vision and customers’ needs, you can prioritize building what matters to achieve the products’ strategic goals and initiatives.
- Take on the full responsibilities of leading a product team. This includes product validation, execution/delivery and outcomes.
- Understand the user experience through qualitative and quantitative research. In order to understand the customers, you’ll have to take large amounts of data points, research, and feedback and distill it down to what is truly important. Our customers are the lifeblood of our product, and understanding their problem areas within VoPay will inform strategic decisions and solutions, and shape the product experiences.
- Deliver features that make an impact on customers. You’ll take feedback and prioritize features by ranking them against strategic goals and initiatives.
- Build a plan, implement, and then measure success. You’ll be responsible for a timeline for implementation of new ideas, and then defining the release process and coordinating all activities to bring this to market. Once implemented, you will help determine what success looks like for the solutions you help build, measuring that success, and keeping stakeholders informed of that progress so that your team can make iterative decisions based on results.
- Product Strategy: Creating product strategies by tying together knowledge of our technology with an understanding of our competition and insights about our customers. Prioritizing what we should build and when, in collaboration with other stakeholders.
- Product Marketing: Creating customer-facing and internal documents, presentations, articles, and training to facilitate the launch, adoption, and success of product go-to-market plans. Refining our product-market fit and readying our product for rapid growth.
- SDLC: Having a fundamental understanding of the software development lifecycle and ability to manage product development projects accordingly.
- Product Value Proposition: Collaborating with Marketing, Professional Services, Sales, and Success leaders to clearly define a product value proposition that resonates with our target customer.
**Qualifications and Skills**
- 6+ years of experience as either a Product Director, Sr Product Manager, Product Owner, or mix of these positions, 5 of which was in a Fintech or Canadian financial institution;
- Deep understanding of the fintech industry, financial products, and digital payment systems;
- Previous experience working in a scrum/agile environment;
- University degree in a technical discipline or with a focus on design or communications;
- Next level communication skills. Your written, verbal and presentation communication skills help articulate the voice of the customer and the needs of the business;
- Empathy. You are naturally empathetic. This means you’ll have the ability to understand our customers - what motivates them, frustrates them, drives them and makes them happy;
- An ability to motivate. You listen before speaking and understand before providing solutions. You focus on the relationship and build trust easily;
- Execution excellence. Creating insights is one thing - leading and driving execution is another. You are motivated by getting things across the finish line and have a solid track record of managing projects and multiple priorities at any given time;
- A data mindset. You look to data to define a problem and you also look to data to demonstrate success. You are energized by the ability to contextualize your work through various tools, systems and processes;
- A desire to collaborate. To deliver high-quality features as quickly as possible, you’ll need to partner with many different people and departments;
