Restaurant Supervisor

Position Overview:
This role requires the successful applicant to work closely with all members of our operational teams to ensure the success of our group functions and daily food offerings. The key responsibility will be to work at the direction of the Restaurant & Beverage Manager in executing food & beverage service and breakdown of restaurant service efficiently. The Restaurant & Beverage Supervisor’s key job functions include customer service, managing staff, assisting with inventory management, and meeting food safety and quality standards.
Essential Job Functions:
**Execution**:
- Preserve excellent levels of internal and external customer service.
- Greets all customers, whether in person or by phone, and provides them with prompt and courteous service.
- Check food and beverage orders to verify they are prepared and served within company standards.
- Responding promptly to customer complaints and rectifying customer problems.
- Provide aid to all serving and kitchen staff as needed.
- Performing serving and bartending duties when required.
- Assumes day-to-day operational duties of Restaurant in absence of Restaurant & Beverage Manager.
**Planning & Control**:
- Consults daily with the Restaurant & Beverage Manager to review any concerns affecting (or that could affect) daily service, quality, and guest input.
- Monitors purchasing and receiving of bar inventory (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), commercial supplies inventory, and banquet service item inventory, ensuring to follow first-in, first-out (FIFO) method and proper quantity and price on all purchases.
- Maintains appearance, upkeep and cleanliness of the restaurant, banquet rooms, patio, bar and their appropriate fixtures, furniture and equipment.
- Ensure adherence of all appropriate sanitation standards including, but not limited to, employee hygiene and uniforms, kitchen food service equipment and preparation areas, food storage areas, dining areas, patio, bar areas and restrooms.
**Personnel & Training**:
- Supports Restaurant & Beverage Manager with orientation and training for new staff and administers ongoing staff procedural training for maximum service levels.
- Follows and maintains operational checklists, ensuring that support staff are always completing their duties.

- Ensures staff grooming and compliance with dress code policy.
- Executes efficient controls and innovative ideas for the bar to maintain or exceed budgeted margins.
- Executes efficient controls for labour hours.
- Provide supervision for special events and/or weddings, as needed.
**Working Relations**:
- Develops a working relationship within the company that will attain and maintain a high level of employee morale.
- Maintains a close liaison among all department heads.
- Conducts themselves in such a manner to encourage fellow employees to follow, thus enhancing the status of the position and that of the company.
- Develop, maintain and disseminate the basic company philosophy, and policies to all present employees and the newly hired personnel.
- Consults with the department managers regarding guests’ comments, desires and to seek opinions of new menu items.
**Local Laws & Regulations**:
- Possesses complete knowledge of local labour laws and contracts.
- Possesses complete knowledge of the local food service laws.
- Complies with the local kitchen sanitary regulations.
